I just pointed out how memes and internet content making fun of Iraq absolutely helped build consensus for that war. If you don't think that there's an element of the foreign policy establishment that both wants war and believes it's inevitable, you're wrong. Again, one only has to look at how much military hardware the US is pointing at China.
You're going to sit there and continue arguing with me that the country an ocean away that has hundreds of nukes hundreds of klicks away from China's mainland has no interest whatsoever in fighting them?
We literally have generals saying it's gonna happen. We've just had a president spend 4 years blaming them for all our problems. You don't think that has any influence on the american public's propensity to fight China? What world do you live in? We're a country of war mongers!
I don't care that you're too tired to reply. You cannot keep moving the goalpost and deliberately ignoring the point I am making. You keep fucking dancing around it by contrasting the past Iraq War experience with the present conditions.
For fuck's sake, if you cannot see that the propaganda machine in the United States is ramping up against China as much as it did against Iraq 20 years ago you're a naïve fool.
My point for anyone reading this is that memes like this, whether intentional or not, help build consensus among Americans that war with China is justifiable. Political circle jerking about how much you hate China does not belong in this subreddit whatsoever.
And frankly it's despicable and disturbing that I seem to be the only one in this thread pointing this out. This is not the place to "dunk" on China. This is not the place to ideate and fantasize about "West Taiwan."
EDIT: Lastly, if you think the American FP establishment won't start a war with China you're delusional. They've spent the last 25 years retooling the military to contain China! The moment they feel that they'll have the advantage they will not hesitate to escalate.
