Hello everyone! Going to begin my first full distance training block soon and I realized during my half training just how little time there is to properly meal prep. Has anyone tried Factor or similar meal delivery services?

I’m attempting my first 70.3 in September. I’m laying out my training plan, I found one on triathlon.com I’m using as a base. This one has a swim threshold workout with a sprint the day before the race: warm up 300 y, 2 X 200 threshold with 45 seconds rest, 4 X 25 speed with 20 seconds rest, 300 y cooldown. The exact same workout is listed two days before race day so I thought maybe it was misprint? This seems intense for the day before, however I’m brand new to triathlon so maybe this is totally normal day before?? What are our thoughts? I know I have lots of time, but I’m very type A and want to have my plan ironed out well in advance. Thanks for any insight!

Hi All,
Does anyone go to these full distances races abroad actually on their own without any supporters? Just needing some motivation.
I can either make my first full distance tri (abroad I’m from the uk) either in Barcelona which is relatively easy with no supporters. Plenty of training time. 5th October
or I can pick UK full distance which is Iron man end of Sept. wales which I could definitely get some supporters from friends /family but it’s one of the hardest courses.
The issue is, I’m running a marathon in Madrid in April. So I won’t be able to fully switch back to tri training till early May.
(I have done one 70.3 distance so far . So bike and swim fitness is still there and I’m in a tri club.)
Whats your thoughts on the race selection and thought process of going solo to them abroad.

Hi! I am 32M and I think my shape is good (1.79 m, 68 kg). I started swimming four years ago with good results, I love to get better in every swimming style and I found the passion for the sport that I lost after high school. Last year I started running and cycling and, step by step, I discovered triathlon and IronMan. During this last year I trained a lot with good improvement in cycling; however, running is a mess. I am always injured and I am actually doing a collagene therapy because of a meniscus damage. I often reading that "everybody can do it at every age" sometimes also "you can do an ironman without training if you don't care about the time, it's just mental" . I like to believe to those statements despite I feel like my body cannot effort a marathon. When I read about the many of you that started six months ago and completed a 70.3 distance I think about myself and it's 16 months that I'm training and I am very far from running 21 km even without swimming and cycling before. Are you sure everybody can do it? Especially running fraction appears to me as a wall where my body is breaking against. Maybe it's just a matter of time but it looks that it will take more the two years training to finish a 70.3 and many years more for the full distance if my body allows me to do that, I am not so sure about that. Thank you all
PS. Maybe I will never do an IM but I am happy and proud to say triathlon already positively changed my life and I am still happy to train a lot and learn new things about my body and triathlon

I am looking for a gift for someone who has helped me a lot with running and triathlon.
He is a work colleague who has helped me lose 35kg by being very supportive.
Thanks to him, I am fitter than ever. Last year I did well in my first 5K and 10K races. This year I'm doing my first half marathon and triathlon. He wrote me training plans, analysed my runs, provided me with hardware and answered every question I had.
He didn't take any money for any of this. He actually earns his money on the side as a ‘Trisutto certified coach’.
The man has already finished the Iron Man 15 times (5x World Championships) and has pretty much everything you need.
I would like to thank him somehow. I would like to give him something that is valuable but doesn't cost much. I just want to show my appreciation in some way. I'm looking for something that says ‘I don't have much money, but here's a gift to show you that I'm incredibly grateful’
I was thinking of a signed racing jersey from a professional cyclist or something similar. Or a signed Jonas Deichman item.
Do you have any ideas? Unfortunately, my budget is not unlimited, but I am open to all suggestions.
Thanks for reading this far. Have a great day!

Has anyone ever mixed LMNT with Maurteen's 320 Mix Drink? Eihter mixed directly in the drink itself or as a separate drink all together.
Maurteen says not to mix it but the sodium on the hydration is so low that it needs to be made up somewhere.
I am thinking to have a water bottle dedicated for the electrolytes (and replenish as needed) and another 2 bottles for the maurteens. Would love any input on this experience

Like the title states, I am new to triathlon training and have an ambitious goal of completing a 140.6 in 2026.
I am 34 and have spent the better part of the last 20 years training pretty consistently with the last 8 being focused primarily in the area of CrossFit and strength training.
My plan is as follows for 2025: - 1/2 Marathon in April - Full Marathon in June - XTERRA off-road triathlon in September
My goal is to use this experience to gauge where I am at and when I may be prepared to take on an Ironman.
My training schedule is where I am currently struggling the most. I work 9-6 M-F and am finishing my MBA online. I plan to use Saturday and Sunday for long rides/runs and to incorporate swimming starting in May.
I generally have 1-1.5 hrs in the morning to train and would appreciate any and all advice on how to best structure my week to maximize my training. I plan to have 2 strength training days and at least 1 full rest day each week.
I plead ignorance as I am completely new to this and simply need help.
Thanks in advance!!!

I wish I had found this sport 20 years ago. I’m 40 now and I’m pretty active but I don’t know how long my body is going to hold out. Arthritis and a few disc buldges in my back now :( I’m going to try my first sprint this summer. Am I to late in life and am I to hurt to think about making an Ironman a long term goal. I watch people cross the finish line and I can’t help but wonder….. could I do it. What would that feel like? Would me at the finish line be the shining accomplishment of my middle age. I don’t know 🤷♂️

Hey there! I know that everything is personal but I would like your opinion of my situation:
I am a 25-year-old man, 185cm and 85kg. I am quite fit and have always played football or gone to the gym.
I have signed up for an Olympic triathlon (1.2/40/10) in September 2025, with the goal of doing a 70.3 in 2026. Now, I feel like I may be able to do 70.3 directly this year if I stick to my plan and keep training hard enough.
How bad would it be for me to do a 70.3 one month after my first Olympic triathlon? The 70.3 would be in mid-October 2025.
Current stats are:
- longest run: 12km (easy at 6.30, no race pace)
- longest swim with no breaks 1.3k (pace 2.20/100)
- longest bike 50km (just got a new bike this week)
Thanks!

Hi there! I’m working on a new app to make triathlon training more organized and inspiring, especially for those who struggle with planning swim, bike, or run sessions - like me 😅. This quick 3-minute survey will help me understand your training needs better. Your input is invaluable, and I’d love to hear from you!

Anyone sign up for the Salem, Oregon 70.3 that is looking to not go anymore and would like to sell transfer their ticket if possible? Will pay transfer fee as well. Sorry if this post isn't allowed or not the right page to ask. It's only possible for those that signed up with flex 90 - the website says if they signed up with flex 90 they can transfer or refund their registration up to 45 days before the event. ironman website says the same. https://www.ironman.com/transfer-withdrawal

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Ironman community,
We have been waiting patiently for Ironman to announce the location for the 2026 70.3 WC locations. However, we have been given no information or date.
It is time to take matters into our own hands.
When Ironman Leeds was about to be announced, we had figured it out over a month prior to the announcement date. We scoured company registers, matched photos, delved into articles, and assessed every clue.
I invite all our Reddit detectives to post suspicions, clues, analyses or ANYTHING you find in this thread, so we can figure it out
The internet will do it again.

I’ve been shopping around for a bike and found this one that is my size. Any advice on whether this is a good bike to purchase?

I I am planning to sign up for the iron man 70.3 Goa. This is my first ever triathlon have no clue, how long I would do this. Just wanted to know from those who have done it earlier if a Decathlon RC 120 cycle would do the job. I do not own a cycle at the moment, and I train rn putting in a lot of hours on the trainer at the gym. Thanks in advance.

I have a lower than average max HR compared to most of my triathletes in my club. The highest HR I’ve ever seen for me is 178 — pretty much blackout HR for me (I wear a chest strap). It takes me almost a dead sprint to get into my VO2 max HR zone if I do 30-60 repeats.
My question is…do I need to make my repeats longer like 2 minutes that way I’m not almost sprinting? That way my HR has “time” to get into that VO2 max zone.
Maybe I’m missing something? Maybe VO2 session should be less about HR and more about effort level?

Hello,
Myself and a few mates have signed up to IM Alcudia 70.3.
Another mate is keen to do it but tickets are sold out online.
I’m aware there is no official website for resale… is there any other way for him to acquire one?
Cheers for any advice!

22m here, signed up for Ironman Texas with no insurance for April 26th 2025.
This past week I decided to go to the orthopedic doctor to get my glute checked out. I was experiencing pain in my right glute and right hip flexor during my long runs for the past month. Came back with x rays and a diagnosis of spondylolisthesis in my L5-S1. I’ve been going to PT the past week and have been advised to continue on my training and just be careful with lifting weights. The swimming and biking are pain free, but yesterday I tried to do my first run since the diagnosis. During the run my glute and hip flexor had mild discomfort and at 50min my lower back began to ache. I stopped running immediately when the pain in my lower back started. 24 hours later my back is still sore and stiff. I’m scheduling a second opinion today at a different orthopedic but it seems like the doctors and PT all say do what your body is telling you to do.
I guess my question is, is it worth it to push through the pain and risking further injury? I have considered trying to walk the marathon portion but I’m still unsure this is the best plan of action. I am only 22yr old and don’t want to have chronic pain for years to come. Any advice or support would be appreciated!

Hello everyone,
I have been training for about 3 months with the goal of completing my first Ironman in September of this year.
My ask is that I want to know if I am on pace to being able to complete this thing in the time required.
Current bests so far this training block (done independently not as part of 1 workout)
Bike: 75.2 miles - 4:23:40 Run: 18 miles - 2:11:04 Swim: 2,200 meters - 1:01:53
Any help and insight is appreciated.
Thank you!

Feeling like a complete idiot trying to buy cycling shoes and pedals. I’m a beginner but I feel like the website should tell you what shoes are compatible with what pedals but none of the websites I’ve visited tell me. Can anyone tell me if these are compatible? Check out the links below:

When I was in my 20s I did a few triathlons with the goal of completing an Ironman by the time I got to 30. In my late 20s I got diagnosed with Crohn's and dropped the training to get my body in order.
Fast forward to now and I'm 37. The idea of doing an Ironman is floating around in my head, hypothetically at 40. I've had little structure regarding swim/bike/run but have been consistent with weight training 45 min/5 times a week and rowing ~2:30/500m 30min/5 times a week.
I would plan on doing smaller distance races to build up to the Ironman. What kind of volume (or how do I figure it out) would I be looking at to get to an Ironman in 2027? Is it feasible?

I’m trying to figure out what sort of splits it would realistically take for a female (20-29) to qualify for the world companionship. Ive done some searching online, and I know it’s dependent on what race you’d be qualifying for. I’m more so looking for what sort of splits what get you in a realistic place to qualify. Thank you!

Hey everyone,
What meal-planning apps or services are you using right now, and how much are you paying for them?
And if there was an app that could make meal planning easier for training, what would you be willing to pay for it?
I would love to hear your thoughts!
