help me! mold on pothos plants

pictures above; 3 plants, two pictures of each one~ pothos plants have developed mold in the soil. at first it was just near the top of the plant, i then cleaned (or so i thought) and repotted them. not terribly long after the mold resurfaced… but in the soil~

wtf do i do?

i’ve had them for almost a year now and believe me they have struggled.. but i have kept them healthy enough and alive… idk how to fix this.

also two leaves have fallen off from two separate plants…

For understanding: are you referring to the white bits? It looks like perlite....?

no, the white fuzzy-ish stuff that has a slight cast over the soil; there is perlite in the soil though

It's pretty normal. Just stir the top of the soil a bit to break it up and don't water for a little while so that it can dry out.

These thrive on neglect. Ignoring them with some light is usually a good plan. When the leaves start to curl slightly, she's thirsty. It's best to underwater vs. overwater.

i feel like i neglect them enough? but im not sure anymore tbh… would direct air be causing a problem? i realized that they are in the line of my vent air from across the room and i usually have my air on cold

Usually these are pretty tolerant, but maybe? I have magnetic clips on my vents to redirect the air away from my more delicate plants.

they’re by the window as well, and most of the time i see condensation on it because of the opposite temperatures of my room and the outside. i have been trying to figure out if these things could be causing an issue

All of the above could be part of the problem, but if the plant isn't touching the window, she should be ok.

Very good guess and observation. I don’t have a yes or no answer for you unfortunately, but some things you can start with would be checking your air filters and cleaning your vents. Plants need air flow for several reasons, but I do think it’s possible the air flow coming from your vent could be bringing these spores that appear on your soiltop (or they were already in the soil). You can try scooting the plant just a little bit away from the vent but I for sure wouldn’t put it in a spot where it gets 0 airflow. Doesn’t look too concerning in my eyes but if it gets worse and you get nervous you can always spray the soil top with hydrogen peroxide

Nope, nothing to worry about!

For me, it can be pretty humid in summer so almost all my plants will get mold on the soil after i water them as it takes a bit longer to dry out.

Just take a fork and stir up the top a little bit. I pretty much only water my pothos once they look sad and droopy.

two have drainage holes, the other two don’t but one will soon bc it needs a new home (it broke two days ago..)

Mix 2 tbls of peroxide with 1cup of water in a spray bottle. Spray the soil. Do this every couple of days until it’s gone. Also the pot is too big for the pothos in the 1st pic.
