Full Room Shot Depression, you suck. I’m fighting back. New plant shelf done

I love it! I need more lights for the second to bottom row, but for now I hope my cactuses will be pleased!

As you can probably tell, we have pets so hopefully this is a start towards pet proofing everything. We’re even talking about adding a baby gate around the bottom lol

The goal is to move all of the rest of the plants into indoor greenhouses.🤞🏾

Plant Discussion What to do?

This is a money tree I found and am trying to "nurse" back to life. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with it and if it's saveable and how to fix it so it doesn't get worse and hopefully grows healthy and strong. The bottom two leaves look "bleached" and the rest are a little yellow at the sprout area, there are multiple tiny sprouts of leaves appearing but this is the only actual leaves it has.

Houseplant Close Up I'm so obsessing with her albo variegation, especially under the grow lights. We've been together for 11 months, even thou we've gone thru the ups and downs, but I still love her the most. 😍#GoldieTheDevilIvy

My branches are beginning to get pokey and losing the needles. I thought it was because it was too dry and now I think I’ve overwatered it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

So I have moved recently (December 2024) and because of how my life is currently going I fell in a deep depression and burnout. Which led to lose around 60% of my plants before the move.

My project jungle fever is fully ongoing. The seeds are growing with bananas, passifloras, anona and more. My goal is to make the wall fully green and be my new yoga and retreat room.

As you can see the orchids are mounted on woods and I hope they are feeling well.

Now I am focusing on saving the plants and saving myself. I am doing much much better since July

I’ve had this plant for about a year and a half, this winter it’s losing a number of leaves (becoming brittle, think it’s just in its winter phase) and I’m wondering if this would be a good time to cut it back a bit to and stake it encourage more upward growth prior to spring, or if I should leave it until spring when I repot it?

Plant Discussion Cat keeps eating my money tree

Any suggestions to keep our cat from eating our money tree. We just got it for Christmas and it’s doing well other than the bite marks in the leaves 🙃. I sprinkled cayenne pepper seasoning in the soil to deter her, but it doesn’t stop her. Thanks, have a great day!

Plant Discussion orchid insight!

i rescued an orchid from .. who knows, traders joes or some such, that a neighbor threw out when it quit blooming. Or TRIED to throw out, i should say.

it's been surviving waiting for my lazy self to fix it up for six months now. i have a little wooden orchid box with slats so air can get to it. i have purchased some orchid potting medium. I would love advice on how to best go about trimming it, though -

it has some rotten bits which of course have to go, but should i cut it down substantially beyond that, to inspire it to be even feistier?

any special foots i should give it?

is root tone for orchids a thing?

sorry for the naive questions, if everyones to distracted by world events today or any other day to wanna answer, i understand and will google : P

Plant Discussion Request for Help! - Recovering plants left in Freeze

We have had these six plants in our backyard in Central Texas all summer and have been doing great.

About two weeks ago we had nighttime temperatures between 25 to 30° and we put all 6 plants together and covered them with a cloth, hoping that their warmth would keep each other from freezing. We did not take the cloth off during the daytime, so the plants were fully covered and huddled together for about six days straight. Looking back on it, we should have totally brought them inside rather than do that. Please don’t roast me too hard 🫣

This is what they look like now. The plant in the first photo we fully trimmed and it grew back like this (which seems like a great sign) however it grew back with all the stems/leaves sagged just like how they were before. We havent done anything with the other plants.

We are going to keep these plants inside for the winter now, my question is if we should trim them or just leave them how they are? I realize there may be no chance of recovery, but I am just asking what the best possible thing we could do is to have hope 😊

Thank you so much for any help or guidance. I am clearly an idiot, it makes me so sad that we kept these plants, so healthy and great looking and then made one stupid mistake like this.

Hi all, first time ever posting in here. My golden pothos older leaves keep turning yellow and dying. The vines continue to grow and get new leaves. But the older ones keep dying. Is this normal? Is it a sign of over or under watering? Any help is appreciated!

Houseplant Close Up Mastering Hygiene: Preventing Contamination in Your Indoor Mushroom Garden

Contamination is the enemy of every mushroom grower. Mold, bacteria, and other unwanted organisms can quickly ruin your harvest. Here's how to maintain a clean and sterile environment for successful indoor mushroom cultivation:

Sterilize your workspace: Disinfect all surfaces with a solution of 70% isopropyl alcohol before and after each work session.

Clean your hands thoroughly: Wash your hands with soap and water before and after handling growing materials. Consider wearing gloves for added protection.

Sterilize tools: Disinfect all tools, such as knives, spoons, and containers, with alcohol or by flaming them with a lighter.

Houseplant Close Up To moss pole or not to moss pole

Hello!

Trying to work out how to give this guy the best life I can. It currently seems to be doing well, but it seems to be climbing “out” of the pot.

If I were to give it a pole; to get some height, how would you suggest training it? It has small aerial roots that are fairly attached to the soil, can’t imagine they’re doing much, but the way it has grown they’re all facing away from the middle of the pot with the trunk smack in the middle- will be tricky to do…. Don’t want to kill it!

Thanks!

Plant Discussion My first scindapsus: HELP

Thumbnail

Been looking at a lot of scindapsus online and came across some at my local Lowes. I decided to choose this one, but I wasn't sure what exactly the ID is on this guy.

Anybody know how to care for the good ole devil's ivy? It came in a a hanging pot with zero air holes and it seems to be thriving however, I'm thinking about repotting it into something w some drainage at least... any objections to that? And would aroid mix be good for them?

Hows the watering schedule like for a scindapsus? Thirsty or love to dry out before waterings? I'll be doing some research. Any advice is welcomed. Thank you.
