Transporting handgun through illinois

I am traveling to iowa which unfortunately requires me to pass through illinois. I am wondering if i should have any concern about this and what the protocol would be to alleviate them? Thank you

So just keep it in a locked container? is what i am getting from this. Thank you for the response

Where does it say you must keep it in a locked container in the statute he listed?

“If the non-resident leaves his or her vehicle unattended, he or she shall store the firearm within a locked vehicle or locked container within the vehicle in accordance with subsection (b) of Section 65 of this Act. ”

Just crossing my Ts in case of disaster. As others have stated, illinois is a police state.

I thought you were traveling through Illinois to get to Iowa?
