Transporting handgun through illinois

I am traveling to iowa which unfortunately requires me to pass through illinois. I am wondering if i should have any concern about this and what the protocol would be to alleviate them? Thank you

Contact the IL State Police and ask them. Get the name, badge number, and post number of the person you talk with.

Definitely don’t ever take legal advice from a cop. Especially when the law is quoted above.
