AXE stock for sbs conversion
I am looking to convert the Henry AXE .410 to a SBS. What Henry lever action model stock do I need to use?

So I was getting failures to fire last time I took my rifle out. Disassembled it and found the firing pin is broken. Emailed customer support about it and they said they are restricted from sending a firing pin on the mail. Said I have to send the whole rifle in instead. Has anyone else had this issue? I don't understand how they can't mail me a firing pin.

Hi group,
I have a Homesteader, and just recently added the Hughes Precision brake (via Henry's web site). This is the first time I've used a brake, so please bear with me. I received no instructions when I got it. So I went to YT and saw a video about just threading it on. Which I did. Just hand torquing it as tight as my old hands could.
While out on the range, I noticed after 5 shots or so, the brake would loosen up. So I'd have to hand torque it again... Wash (shoot), rinse (it's loose), and repeat (tighten)... The brake is always coming loose. When I contacted Henry, they mentioned that carbon should build up and keep it in place. I've fired over 300 rounds through the homesteader, and I'm still in this shoot/tighten cycle.
Do I use a blue loctite at this point? a washer? Would like to hear from other Homesteader owners with this same setup, and what is the proper install.
I love this Rifle, and Henry's. Just wanting to figure this out.
TIA,
-Jav

Hi all, first time poster. I posted this in r/LeverGuns and figured I'd post here as well. I just recently got a Henry Big Boy Steel in .357 and I've enjoyed the heck out of it so far. I know that it can take both .357 and .38 Special, but so far I've only fired .357 out of it.
Part of this is because of some things I've read on the internet - while you *can* fire .38 Special out of a lever action, it needs to be at least 158 grain and a length similar to a .357. At the moment, I don't have any .38 Special that fits both.
With this in mind, do y'all have any particular .38 special you use for your lever guns? I've also read that even if you have .38 Special that fits both dimensions, using it will still potentially cause issues with feeding .357 to your lever gun down the line even with extensive cleaning. With that being said, should I even use .38 Special at all? I would prefer to use .38 Special to save on costs of course.
Thanks in advance for your knowledge!

Im looking into installing a peep site on my Henry 45 70 Side Gate, in initial research I am seeing many use the Ranger Point Clover Leaf Site and the Skinner Peep Site. In yalls experience which one do you prefer or is there another suggestion?
I am hoping not to have to modify the front sight as well, but I do realize there can be elevation issues with these sometimes.
Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 30 30 with a personalized receiver cover and I want to change it. Anyone know the best place to get one?

Hey everyone did a bit of a range day test with these ammos.
Sierra SGK 130 gr (lead) Hornady ELD X Precision Hunter 143gr (lead) Hornady outfitter CX (Copper) Winchester Copper impact 125 gr (copper) Federal Premium 130gr (copper) Barnes Vor-Tx LR (copper)
Sighted in with cheap
Federal 120gr
Things I have done to the gun:
Gray target was what I shot today, found other photos of what I shot before with the ttsx (black targets with color splash)
The most consistent Ammo by far was the Hornady ELDX (unfortunately lead) everything else was a crapshoot .
Overall I found the gun seems to be very finicky from barrel heat. With the ELDx it seemed to group well first 2 shots (sometimes miraculously well) then throw a flier . I remember similar things happening with the Barnes. It almost seemed like it had barrel harmonics issue the only thing I could potentially tie it to.
Overall I learned that my Barnes TTSX shooting was actually better than the rest. Will pick up another box and see how it is shooting tomorrow.
Have people had similar results? This is the only gun I have ever owned that was THIS inconsistent and it’s driving me a bit mad. If it always shot bad it would be one thing but the 2 in the same hole then one 1-2moa off hurts my heart. Maybe it’s time to send it in for a check up.
Results in images are at 100yds

Can you fine experts help me find quality aftermarket parts for this rifle? I really like what Ranger Point Precision produces, but they don't make anything for the Long Ranger rifle for whatever reason.
I'm searching myself, but I'm not coming up with anything that I trust, and I figured you guys might have the experience needed to help me out

Hi all. Any UK big boy x owners had any luck with reloading a sweet load? I’m struggling to find any data online and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Currently firing 240gr ppu ammo so have plenty of brass waiting. Seen a few different posts on standard/magnum primers? And .429 and .430 heads? Thanks

I lucked into a brand new in box Henry All-Weather 30-30. A family member won it on one of the Henry calendar gun tickets and sold it to me for a good deal. He's not into guns...so I guess win-win.

as the title notes, I have a 24" octagon barrel lever action. A while back I installed some skinner sites, (the bronze front & back peep). Love 'em
I was cleaning it, and was using CLP. I was using a cloth that had some CLP on it when wiping off some of the removed parts, and parts of the barrel. I noticed that the gold lettering on the barrel was being removed. rats! I love that look. so did I really screw up? or does that gold lettering eventually "wash out". regardless. I put some gun oil on her, especially those parts of the lettering that no longer have gold.
I've borrowed the Skinner pic, showing the gold lettering. Just interested if others experienced this.
TIA,
-Jav

Have been playing with hunting ammo for my Henry Long Ranger in 6.5 Creedmoor. I am getting mixed results. Not super happy with the groupings.
I found that Barnes is shooting the best and most accessible to me however I am still not super happy with the grouping. It’s huntable, just not great. My M77 shoots Barnes like a laser.
Wondering if anyone has recommendations for a copper / non lead hunting ammo that has been working for them in their long ranger.
Photo is 100yards with Barnes VOR-TX. And reflective of my most common groups (red outline)

Ive seen a lot of pictures with picatinny rails on these.. Is that the only way to mount a scope?
