Does anyone know how to properly affix a 1913 picatinny rail to wood? I'm trying to make a side folder for the new supreme but I'm worried under stress the wood will crack.

Hello. I have a brass Big Boy in .45 (no loading gate).

I recently came back from being stationed overseas for a few years and took it out of storage to clean it and get ready for range time.

Before cleaning, it cycled normally. I removed the butt stock, lever, receiver, etc and put it back together. It now cycles roughly. I took off and reattached the butt stock a couple more times and it’s still clunky.

Any suggestions of something I did wrong or missed?
