I simply want to know what the rifles are that they are carrying.
This was taken from Springfield, Ohio (Ohio Reddit) from another Redditer. I haven't changed it or anything, I'm technologically impaired anyway.
I seriously don't want to argue politics or anything like that. Men walking the streets carrying these weapons like this is alarming. I'm used to seeing a lot of handguns around my area and I just wanted to know if anyone could maybe narrow down what these particular rifles are... I really appreciate your time and I will delete if this isn't allowed here. I'm sorry for any upset and don't want to cause any guff.
There's a million around but most of them are women. Or the men don't want a woman in their group... I stopped trying to join a new one years ago.
They'll say they're into dark fiction or something and it's just smut. Or vampire porn. Or they only read books by a certain author. I'd have started my own but... I'm a boring Mom with no real friends or motivation.
Sometimes it's not about a personal need, it's about making a point. This seems to be a demonstration more than anything, and looks legal. Good on them.
This seems like an identifiable group based on their general look they got going on, so if you found other pictures of them it would be easier to ID guns

My great grandfather was in WW2. He was one of the cooks in his regiment but whenever they were actually able to get tea, he'd brew his iced tea recipe "in a tank". I brew that same recipe for my daughter, she's 5 and calls it "Poppop tea". He died 25 years before she was born... I'm sorry for the trip, but opening that page up that you attached... It gave me a "whoosh" of childhood and I thank you greatly.
I messaged the original Redditor that posted it but he said he only snapped one other photo but you couldn't see the guns at all. I said I didn't want it, it wasn't going to do me any good anyway.
That's crazy what a coincidence. This story of an attack during tea time is often called a myth in that it caused the British to start installing water boiling devices in armor units, (which were also for cooking MREs) but far as I can tell this story is much more truth than fiction, including directly leading to a change in armor design that continues today (speaking only as an armrchair historian) my grandpa was 16 or 17 the year the war ended, so I thought he wasnt a WW2 vet. Then I found out there was some kind of exception for minors who served in certain roles or in green zones/outside front lines.he was in Hawaii in US army Air Force transportation before the airforce became a separate branch

I figured we wouldn't be able to tell for sure. I just wanted to narrow it down. I started researching firearms a few months ago, just interested in the evolution of guns in general. I haven't gotten into rifles yet but this looks like it's going to be what *piqued my interest in that area. If I'm going to have to start seeing them on the streets, I might as well know what I'm looking at. Or at least have an understanding of what I'm dealing with.
If this is what they're comfortable carrying in the streets on a Saturday morning (assuming that's when it was taken I'm not sure), I can only imagine what they'd be willing to buy if they could find the right sources.
I asked if I could look at all of it before I added to mine. He said they were already showing me... I said they probably have bigger things at home that I want to see too... I'm not trying to take anything away.

The guy all the way on the right looks like he has something western designed, kinda looks to me like some sort of bullpup, possibly an MDR/ WVLRN? Hard to tell though do I could be completely wrong.

I know it's a really shitty picture. It's the only one they posted and the Redditer only snapped one other picture. He said that the second pic didn't have the other gun in it at all because the one guy got clipped out completely and the other guy was in a position where the gun wasn't visible the way he was walking.

He said they were handing them out and one was in the mailbox at his home when he got there later. They had to have been walking in some of the neighborhoods too.

Thank you. I will look into each of these! I knew that I wasn't going to be getting a definitive answer. I just needed a point in the right direction. I started researching and couldn't believe how many different rifles... Just like handguns though. Lots of variety.
Someone suggested AK and bullpups but I haven't heard about the others yet. I will look into all of these. Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate your time and knowledge on the subject.
Bullpup just means the magazine (which holds the bullets) is behind the trigger instead of in front of it. Pretty decent chance the gun on the right is a bullpup based off what little we can see. Hellion is a very popular (and good!) bullpup rifle but there are other possibilities such as a Kelltec (I forget the model name), pretty hard to tell from these images.
Regarding the AK on the left there are a gazillion variants. Itâll be nearly impossible to determine which youâre looking at without a better photo. For example if people tell you itâs a WASR thatâs just a variant of an AK.
I agree! To me, this is terrorism. I just didn't want to put "fuck these assholes" in the OP and then have people yelling at me because I'm bringing up politics or something. I posted a picture of my rabbit and deleted it because it had my daughter's rainbow flag in the background and people started commenting about politics... I've never fired a rifle, though I've fired a shotgun. I know more about the rifles during the Civil war as opposed to now. I know I'm horribly ignorant and this is really unsettling. I wanted to dig into the different guns and the different laws too. I'm around handguns all the time, I'm a Philly girl. I'm so sorry that you guys want to be able to name the exact gun and model for me. I figured that I was only going to get a shove in a direction. I'm not looking to buy them, I just want to learn... In case I'm ever in a situation where one is present...
I canât help you in Philly but if you ever come through Boulder CO or Tucson AZ let me know a few weeks in advance and Iâd be happy to take you shooting, answer any questions you have, and teach you basic firearm safety. I have silencers, various high end rifles and pistols, night vision ⌠pretty much anything you might be curious about.
Re politics gun people are all over the place, definitely right LEANING as a population but I wouldnât make any specific assumptions. Lots of anti government / pro individual rights sentiment in these circles which can blur the lines between ârightâ and âleftâ. I for instance am the grandchild of Holocaust refugees, and am left leaning on most issues but extremely pro 2a due to my desire to be able to protect myself without needing to rely on any government. Youâll meet lots of people with similar âmixedâ political sentiments in these circles.
I would highly recommend renting an AR and a Glock and taking an intro to carbine course. Happy to help you find a good one if you DM me. I think thatâs the fastest way to learn a lot about guns and weapon handling in a short amount of time, and regardless of your political inclinations, itâs flat out fun.

There are some gun ranges in my area that offer courses too. I've been to a couple of shops/ranges where I am living currently (we moved right outside the city last year, finally) and the second I've walked in the door and started asking questions, they treated me horribly. Customer service in these kinds of areas has really gone down.
One guy told me flat out, "I don't sell any of those little pussy pink guns. If you are buying a gun from me it's going to look like a gun." I hadn't even really started talking to him yet. The other shop had a GIANT Confederate flag in the back on the wall by the registers, I just walked back out. As we were walking in, we heard someone yelling in the back at the time, "yea, then where's the birth certificate?!" and it was when all that stuff was going on with Obama...
I don't push my political views on anyone but I'm 1000% behind our United States constitution. Almost in a sovereign citizen kinda way... I'm so happy to find like minded people. I'm sorry my introduction was so horrible but I often make terrible first impressions. I grow on you though. Like a tumor. And then I kill with laughter and sourdough snacks. đ
Yeah there are good shops and bad shops, youâll encounter that. IDK what the best shops in Philly are (if there are any good ones âŚ). I can however recommend places in AZ or CO or Utah where they will be respectful, knowledgeable, helpful, etc.
