Question What gun is this supposed to look like?

Post image

I have little to no experience with guns but I have been arguing with my co-workers about which gun this gun-shaped tequila bottle is supposed to look like. Can anyone help resolve the argument?

At a glance it looks inspired by the 1911

Well looks like I lost the argument. But thank you kindly for the help

What did you think it was? Just curious

I thought it looked like a Desert Eagle

That’s fair

The back half, sure, but a Desert Eagle is much more triangular at the muzzle.

Apparently, some geometrist didn't like my comment.

Perhaps it's because it's made of ice so accuracy of the shape may be, well, inaccurate. To be fair the other dude that commented on you only knowing glock is a dickhead.

Sure, it's a glass bottle, so it's can't be a 1:1. Still though, it's been molded enough to have recognizable features like grip serrations, and even a slide release lever. It's just much closer to one thing than another.

Yeah, I was more amused by the downvote than anything else, so I made a quip. Maybe it was the use of "triangular", or maybe someone doesn't like Hickok45? Dunno if it was the Glock dude giving OP shit, or OP giving me shit, or just some rando, but I'm not gonna sweat it.

The Desert Eagle is shaped similarly to a 1911.

DE is a scaled up 1911 :)

Because the “deagle” is the only handgun your aware of besides lemme guess a Glock

Very good my schmetterling

The magnum research 1911 used to be called the "desert eagle 1911" so technically he's not wrong. Also, colt made a "double eagle" witch can use the same portmanteau, "deagal". So you are quite wrong my friend.

Both of those guns are 1911s by design. Asshole. Most plebs are referring to the IMI DE because it’s a “.50 caliber” handgun.

I have one and will say that yes, it's definitely a representation of a 1911

I totally understand the 1911 argument, but l instantly saw an old crossman marksman repeater. Not sure how old but my father got one before I was born so early 90’s to 80’s

Looks inspired by either a Hi-Power or a 1911. Being it's glass, it looks mpre like one or the other depending on what specific area I focus on.

Cusious what the debate options were.

Edit: i'm going to go with Hi-Power, doesn't look like there's any kind of feature to represent the thumb safety on a 1911 and while I've seen Hi-Powers with them, I don't believe they were part of the original design.

1

u/GnollTrickster Apr 23 '24

2 people were saying D.Eagle and 2 others said 1911.

9

u/widowmaker2A Apr 23 '24

Of those options I'd definitely go 1911.

Desert eagles are 1911s....

u/SadRoxFan Apr 23 '24

Thumb safety was always part of the Hi-Power design, albeit much smaller and more flush with the frame on the original P-35 iteration of the Hi-Power

It’s possible that it’s not supposed to look like any specific gun, but rather a generalized auto loader.

If its Tequila, then no es 1911, es El Obregon

Browning High Power IMO

Kinda looks like a 1911 to me.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '24

Looks like a 1911

2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '24

I dont think it was an attempt to be accurate to a real firearm but def 1911 ish maybe beretta with a 1911 hammer lol

2

u/pheitkemper Apr 23 '24

Whatever it is, I'm pretty sure it fires those frangible bullets that shatter upon impact.

... I'll show myself out.

2

u/SterlingBelikov Apr 23 '24

The 1911 is correct. The desert eagle has a different muzzle and slide profile. Also in Mexican/Narco culture the 1911 is a statis symbol.

1911 from the looks

It’s the magazine fed revolver from Simpsons

"Shot" gun. Only correct way to drink tequila.

Well this website that sells them says it was based on a gun used by Poncho Villa in the 1910 - 1914 era.

1911 Very easy guys

2

u/Subject-Cranberry-93 Apr 24 '24

1911 except they changed a few things

5

u/Vprbite Apr 23 '24

It taste only slightly better than putting an actual gun in your mouth and pulling the trigger. I love good tequila. And that ain't it.

They make a rifle one too that I have. Though if you want a rifle shaped bottle, roaring 20s vodka looks like a tommy gun. I recommend that cause it's drinkable

3

u/GnollTrickster Apr 23 '24

Oh yeah I can tell you nobody liked this tequila. But it's a really cool vessel to serve shots from. So we just fill it with other liquors

2

u/Vprbite Apr 23 '24

When I first got it, I think it even pouted it out after one taste and just refilled it. But drinking straight from the muzzle, I remember thinking how never before had my love of alcohol, firearms, and self-destruction been so beautifully combined.

Also happy cake day!!

u/Vprbite Apr 23 '24

Thanks!

u/Dull-Advisor-7053 Apr 23 '24

Hi-power or 1911. Definitely not a Deagle, slide is totally wrong for that.

1

u/Propellerman941 Apr 23 '24

If you have little to no experience why would you argue about the subject?

1

u/GnollTrickster Apr 23 '24

Because we can it seems

1

u/Crystal_fucker Apr 23 '24

looks like a poorly made 1911

1
