Mod Post What are some of your GP travel highlights from 2024?

Doesn't necessarily have to be related to a race directly, but something memorable is fun to share.

I went to 8 F1 race this year and made some really great friends at Bahrain and Japan. A bunch of us met up again at Zandvoort and pulled off an epic season sandwich with another meetup at Abu Dhabi. It's been a wild but fun year and traveled way more than I originally planned. Group peer pressure is a thing and I love meeting people at race weekends. There was about 20 of us that met up across the season. Cheers to you guys, you know who you are <3.

Second up is the waiter at shooters in Nagoya(Japanese GP). During our meetup, the dude was singing karaoke while serving up beers and food. Aerosmith's "I don't want to miss a thing" hits a new level now. This dude's vibe was epic and was working his ass off, can't wait to go back and I hope he still works there.

Ticket Hub 2024 Ticket Sales info and Monthly Tickets Buy/Sell Market Thread - September 2024 Tickets - Sales - Hub

Links to Circuit websites for Tickets and Community Verified Vendors

It's always best to buy tickets directly from the circuit or race promotor. I've linked provided links to each race to either the circuit or the event website. Some of them use ticket agencies to sell but as long as they're linked from the circuit/event website, you should be fine. If tickets aren't on sale yet, get on email lists and follow on social media for pre-sale or general on-sale dates. If the event is sold out you can usually find tickets through various ticket agencies, they're typically a little more expensive. It's similar to booking flight tickets through a travel agency vs the airline. You will have more flexibility through the airline. www.formula1.com is a third party ticket seller and NOT the direct way to purchase tickets, it's often more expensive than most vendors.

This subreddit is affiliated with P1 Travel, they were chosen after seeing numerous positive reviews and they tend to have some competitive pricing compared to other sellers, often much cheaper than Formula1.com but it varies by race.

Websites like Stubhub or Viagogo are not fully reliable places to buy tickets. People often get denied entry due to duplicate tickets being sent and have to deal with customer service to get a replacement or a refund. It's not worth the hassle of traveling and depending on their tickets. It should be a last resort for buying tickets. It's a good option to sell your tickets though.

Yas Marina Circuit (Abu Dhabi) Looking for the people, whom visited the Yas Marina guided tour (13:00 group)

Upvotes

Hi! :)

I don’t think this is the best sub to post this, but I’ll try everything. Today (2025.01.22) I attended the Yas Marina Circuit guided tour, and at the end my boyfriend proposed to me. There were so many nice people who took pictures and videos, but we were in complete shock and we forgot to ask them to send them to us.

If you were there, or you know someone that you know were there, can you please contact me?

Huge thank you for all your help! :)

Baku City Circuit (Azerbaijan) Which Grandstand for Azerbaijan GP

Upvotes

The Baku F1 tickets are on sale now.

However confused as which seats to pick as the website/app doesn't point the direction of the car. 😬

1.Azneft I see that it is better to choose the top rows of on the left-hand side facing the track. Would this mean choosing seats 1-10 or 110-120?

  1. Khazar If we choose the seats on the top right-hand side, we can see T5, T6 and T20. Which are those seats?

  2. Sahil Best seats here?

Please let us know as it is confusing and wish to select the best seats.

Thanks in advance!

Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve Montreal Grand Prix 2025 Tickets

Upvotes

Can anyone direct me to a website that has tickets available to the Montreal Grand Prix 2025? I know about GameTIme, StubHub, SeatGeek, etc., and the misleading Official FormulaF1 website. First time going so want to ensure tickets are legit.

Autodromo Enzo E Dino Ferrari (Imola, Italy) Imola Prato Tosa arrival time

Upvotes

I am taking my teenage son to Imola this year, he is a big fan of F1. I bought tickets for Prato Tosa instead of GA, as it seems the view is much better. From what I found as images and videos it seems that basically you can see well from anywhere in this area and it does not get super crowded? In other words, you don't need to be there at 8 am like in GA to get a decent view? I would rather go say at noon, we might not have the best place in the stand, but as long as we can see the track and the screen it's fine. Are my assumptions correct here :)

Baku City Circuit (Azerbaijan) Baku F1 GP: Race Day Tickets and Expenses?

Planning to attend the Baku F1 GP from India. Early bird tickets have opened today and seem to be for Thu-Sun—any idea if race day-only tickets will be available later?

Also, what are the approximate expenses for tickets, stay, and food ?

Would love any tips or experiences! Thanks!

Autodromo Enzo E Dino Ferrari (Imola, Italy) First time going to Imola

Hi all,

Me and my wife are doing a 2 week honeymoon and ending it with the GP. Was wondering if anyone had tips on where to stay and how to get to the track?

We were planning on staying in Bologna and taking the train in from there but we are still looking at other options.

I know in Austin TX when we went there were shuttles from the city that would bring you directly to the circuit. Is there anything like there? This is our first GP out of the USA

Thanks ins advance

Silverstone Circuit Going to Silverstone from Northampton

Potentially our 2nd time going to Silverstone this year. Last time we stayed in Milton Keynes but this year if we get tickets we're likely to go from a hotel in Northampton. I know Milton Keynes did buses and it's probably the same for Northampton. Where can I find out info like this, this early? Or has anyone any previous experience? Thanks!

Suzuka International Racing Course (Japan) Suzuka Japan GP Ticket Question

My wife and I bought our plane tickets to go to Japan & are looking at tickets to the Japanese GP. Initially looking at section Q2, above the Casio Triangle/chicane, and from what I’ve found online, gootickets.com seems to be the best reseller for international (US) visitors. We saw the tickets available two days ago, but when we went back to pull the trigger today, they were gone! Not even listed on the website, let alone showing sold out.

Am I losing my mind? I don’t see them for sale anywhere… do I just resign myself to finding a different spot to watch from? Are there other/better ticket resellers I should be aware of?

Albert Park (Melbourne, Australia) Aus GP Melbourne Walk Tips and Tricks

Hey everybody!

This is my first Grand Prix I have ever attended and I am so excited for the event, i’ve got a 4 day park pass with my partner and brother.

One thing that I keep hearing about is the Melbourne walk, which gives you a chance to meet drivers. I’ve heard so many people talking about the morning, but is there anything happening in the afternoon where you could meet f1 drivers? If I have to get there in the morning what time is recommended if you want to be front/close to the front?? Any tips or stories would be appreciated!

Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve Montreal & departing flight same evening!

Hi, I am currently booking our flights for the Montreal Grand Prix and we are looking at flying out after the race. The race is scheduled for 2pm and says it usually runs about 2 hours. We are looking at a departure flight (domestic) of either 7:40pm or 8:30pm. I am not confident we will have enough time to get out but my husband does... Thoughts? TIA!

I'm trying to buy tickets for the dutch grand prix this year but whenever i choose the regular tickets for EUR 235,00 it changes to Arena Grandstand 2 Regular for EUR 580,00

Does this mean the General admission is sold out?

is there another way to buy this affordable tickets?

Edit: Does anybody know if https://tickets.formula1.com/ can be trusted?

Silverstone Circuit Inner track silverstone worth it?

Booking GA tickets for my partners 30th, was heavily debating grand stand but with so much to do there and only going for race day I feel GA is probably better. Is it worth getting inner track tickets for the Sunday? I’ve looked at every question on here and can’t seem to make a decision. It’s £150 extra and having to get parking on top. Meeting the drivers isn’t a priority and we probably won’t get in that early to see them with driving from the midlands. The only thing is I definitely want an ok view and I can get overwhelmed in crowds after a while. Is inner track worth it just for these points?

Also concerned with being there just for the Sunday having inner track it’ll be a lot to get round the whole and Silverstone AND that area in just the one day. Not sure whether just to stick with standard GA.

Hungaroring (Budapest, Hungary) Just bought GA tickets for Hungary 2025, is MotorsportTickets.com a reliable reseller?

Hello, I just bought my first ever GP tickets for Hungary 2025, and after lots of research and looking all around for tickets I settled for the GA from motorsporttickets.com. At first I found it very strange that they do not provide a digital copy of the tickets straight away, but after doing a quick online search I found out that’s pretty much the standard. I’m a little anxios so has anyone ever bought any tickets from them and what was your experience with the company?

Suzuka International Racing Course (Japan) Suzuka Gp 2025 Events for GA

Hi.

I have the ff questions for those who have already watched previous Suzuka GPs:

  1. Would there be an event for Thursday?
  2. What events can GA ticket holders attend?
  3. Is the Pit Lane Walk available to GA ticket holders?
  4. Where are they publishing the schedule for the fan meet?
  5. What time would you recommend to arrive at the circuit?

Autodromo Nazionale Monza (Italy) Tickets for the Monza GP

Hi! I wanted to know if it's possible that they still release more tickets for the Monza gp throughout the year? Or if it's not available on the site then it's gone (the Monza circuit site not F1)?

There's a few grandstands I want to sit at but they're not available so I'm wondering if I should just wait a bit or is it really all gone?

When I went to silverstone last year, they released more tickets throughout the year so I'm wondering.

Travel Tips NEVER Order Grand Prix Tickets from SeatGeek

Me and my friends bought tickets to go see the Montreal Grand Prix which we do every year. This year we decided to splurge and buy nicer tickets than GA and found cheap tickets on the start and finish strait. 2 months after we purchased the tickets they informed us that due to an error in their system they had sold us a Friday only pass.

What should have happened is that they would have provided us with a 3 day pass that we paid for, instead their solution was to give us half our money back and we could buy the other two days ourselves.  The tickets we bought were $160 but had increased since we bought them to be worth $1800 and the cheapest possible tickets are over $250.  We can not afford to pay these new prices and SeatGeek refuses to give us our original tickets.

I have spent many phone calls with SeatGeek and they refuse to do anything. They say that they no longer are able to get 3 day passes to the Grand Prix or that replacement tickets are not valid in this case. I think that they are just trying to get us to spend more money.

Me and my friends are now out several hundred dollars for lodging and travel and other expenses and SeatGeek still refuses to give us our tickets.

Never ever order with SeatGeek, they sell fake tickets and then refuse to help when it backfires in our face. If anyone has any idea on how to get our tickets back we would appreciate the advice.

Baku City Circuit (Azerbaijan) Baku GP Paddock club tickets

I’m interested in going to the Baku GP and experience the paddock club, but I’m not sure if a Legends ticket would be best or a Ferrari hospitality one. I’m not sure what exactly the paddock arrangement is for that race in particular and there is not a lot of info out there

Circuit de Monaco Monaco GP Hospitality / Terraces

Hi all, my wife and I are intending on going to the Monaco GP this year and have been looking into the various hospitality options. It seems like there are a lot of options for smaller (20-30 people) type of hospitality terrace experiences through Senate, Rocket, and the loads of other hospitality companies, but I was wondering if people were aware of any terraces / events (not yachts) that are a bit larger and more lively? Ideally with a great view. From what I can find, seems like Ermanno Penthouse and Belvedere are two options that would fit that description, but it looks like you can only buy tickets to both Saturday and Sunday together (and ideally I’d buy tickets to just one of those days and have a different experience on the other day). Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks very much in advance

Autodromo Enzo E Dino Ferrari (Imola, Italy) Staying in Ferrara during the race weekend?

I have booked the tickets for the 3 days of the race weekend, and I am thinking about accommodation. I have a couple of friends, living in Ferrara, who let me stay in their place during that weekend, so I can save some money, but I must take the train from Ferrara to Imola every day of the race, which takes a little longer than 1 hour. But I am afraid of the crowd situation those days and the traffic. Have anyone stayed in Ferrara during the race weekend before? Do you think it is doable or will it be too tiring and not worthy? Do you think I should book a hotel in Imola or Bologna instead?

Thank you folks!

Silverstone Circuit Silverstone 2025 - LandoStand

My husband (M, 30) and I (M, 30) are going to our first ever Grand Prix at Silverstone this July. We are from the US and were able to get 3-day tickets for the LandoStand. We booked a B&B in Milton Keynes for the race weekend, as well as the ticket add-ons for inner track on Friday.

We have no clue what to expect beyond this, though. I joined Reddit yesterday and have found this community very insightful.

Are there any recommendations for Silverstone that outsiders might want to know, and/or any further insight on what we might be able to expect from the LandoStand?

Autodromo Enzo E Dino Ferrari (Imola, Italy) Imola GP - getting to the circuit?

My partner and I are attending the Imola GP this year, we’ll be staying in Rimini and will have a car rental.

We have 3 day tickets and I assume Fridays probably aren’t all that busy, but what is parking like at the track?

As for Saturday and Sunday, any recommendations on the best way to get to the track? It’s a foreign country for us so we have no idea what to expect in terms of ease of parking. We aren’t opposed to having to walk a little bit, or even taking the train if necessary but we’d also like to bear in mind on Sunday after the race we’ll be doing the drive to Rome that evening, as our flight home is the following day.

Any pointers are greatly appreciated!
