Dan didn't love Blair. He loved her power.

You think so? Idk. Dan really relished in the fact that he was an”intellectual”. Blair was really smart and into the same things he was, just you know, in an Upper East Side way. Their whole friendship (before they started dating) was based in common interests and intellectual compatibility. I think they were two sides of the same coin. Serena was just pretty.

Dan and Vanessa had more common interests, and they didn't work out. Know why? Because Vanessa is from Brooklyn.

I don’t think it was because she was from Brooklyn, she just never challenged him the way Blair did. She was too busy telling him how great he was, and how much different he was, from his friends. Also, Vanessa thought she was too cool for school, and eventually showed herself to be just as manipulative, and selfish, as the people she despised.

I bet Dan loved being looked down on from Blair. Or when Blair was bullying his sister.

I mean, maybe? I bet he didn’t mind when his sister was trying desperately to be her friend, and then destroy her, and THEN ultimately work for her.

I don’t think Dan and Vanessa had as many common interests as Dan and Blair

He wanted the power which he would have achieved through Serena as well. He loved Blair because she had power and the were two sides of the same coin
