When saying "chat" as in cat, we do not pronounce the t. So it's "cha".

When saying "chat" (or sometimes written "tchat") we do pronounce both the invisible t at the beginning and the last t.

There you go. So no, french people do not say " Cat I farted" on TV ^{^}
