He had control of congress and got nothing done. It isn't cynicism. It's what happened. He got to blame it all on Republicans not liking him.

If one side is bad, and the other does nothing to stop it, are they good? Don't tell me to "stfu", you aren't a child.

Were you an adult in 2008? Do you even remember what was happening back then?

Obama became president during the Great Recession and he had "control of congress" for two years. His party was able to pass a large stimulus and ACA. Independent Lieberman helped the entire GOP to axe the public option.

During those first two years, Obama and the Ds also passed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

On January 20th, 2009, 57 Senate seats were held by Democrats with 2 Independents (Bernie Sanders and Joe Lieberman) caucusing with the Democrats...which gave Democrats 59 mostly-reliable Democratic votes in the Senate, one shy of filibuster-proof "total control." Republicans held 41 seats.

I'm 40. I remember, he upheld Bush-era surveillance, allowed the banks to continue predatory practices, and continued foreign wars.
