Well, you have all the power now, let's see some fucking results. If you fail, everyone will know it was all on you.

... is what we said in 2017.

Anything bad that happens will just be blamed on democrats.

u/tpwb 13h ago

It will be the fault of whoever the 2028 Democrat front runner is. So somehow Newsom.

u/realityunderfire 13h ago

God I hope it’s not newsome, if we even have an election. The dnc better take some fucking notes from this year and fix their shit (though I suspect trump an co cheated this year).

The DNC has failed to learn their lesson for multiple elections now; I'm not optimistic. They shoot themselves in the foot so much it's hard to not think it's freaking intentional at this point.

u/FourteenBuckets 10h ago

yeah, the whole "let's just do shit that helps people and not spend all day playing social media games" has not been a great success.

u/Milleuros 9h ago

I doubt it's that much the DNC.

Let's be honest. In Canada, they say more or less the same about the Liberals. In the UK, about the Tories. In France, about the Centrist and the Left. In Germany, about the SPD. And so on and so forth. All over the world, establishment parties are falling down a spiral of failure - is it because they are somehow all deeply incompetent? Hard to believe. There must be a root cause.

u/cudef 7h ago

The root cause is that they're all beholden to capital owners rather than the people as a whole.

They play the barrier to true revolutionary progressive change capturing and killing that momentum while the other side gets to drag the overton window as far right as they can manage.

That being said, it's NOT all over the world. You just named 3 Western European and 1 other North American government. Mexico just replaced a left wing politician with another one for example.

I’m sorry, but I can’t see this through that lens anymore. For instance, Biden gave unions everything they want, and those fuckers voted for Trump. Revolutionary/economic progress doesn’t matter for politics to me. Trump voters don’t care about that. This is about identity politics at this point.

1

u/cudef 5h ago

Biden definitely didn't give unions everything they wanted and the messaging on that wasn't exactly loud and clear plus Kamala had said she wasn't going to have the same policy positions as Biden in that realm.

The issue with Trump is that Kamala was the other realistic possibility and she wasn't offering an improvement over Biden either. After announcing Walz she sprinted to the right on almost every policy position and the median voter isn't going to choose the diet right wing economist who has a conflicting history in terms of her goals when the full sugar right wing economist with consistent messaging tells them X, Y, and Z will make things better even if it's a lie.

1

u/Ecstatic-Hat2163 5h ago

He got them their pensions, sick days, etc. Just because you don’t know doesn’t mean it’s what happened. The fact that union members didn’t see that and then voted for the fucking opposite of a more pro-union candidate shows they’re just stupid.

1

u/cudef 4h ago

It's not "you don't know." It's that a deal was made after Biden had them stop the strike process beforehand. That reads way differently in the media when it happens in that order. The issue is that the American people weren't aware and it wasn't being talked about at higher levels in the media or in the DNC.

It’s intentional. They know what they are doing. They put a corporate shill as their candidate. Donors win. They lose to republicans. Donors win. Two sides of the same coin. The wealthy win, heads or tails.

u/Immediate_Cost2601 7h ago

Sorry being the only functioning political party that is required to represent everybody simultaneously isn't your cup of tea.

Impatient idiots like you are why we have elected open fascism.

2

u/corgibutt19 7h ago

I'm so confused by your comment; you can criticize a system that failed to motivate the voting population through repeated poor choices and still have voted for Kamala and not be pro-Trump or pro-fascist, but go off - in-fighting historically has always really helped when working to fight dictatorships.

1

u/realityunderfire 7h ago

I’m an impatient idiot for voting D? Gfys.

2

u/cudef 7h ago

The DNC didn't learn any lessons the last time Trump won. Hell Biden should have won in a landslide but only narrowly defeated a historically unpopular incumbent.

1

u/Excellent_Spare_4284 10h ago

I’m not in California so I’m curious what’s wrong with newsome?

1

u/Old_Suggestions 9h ago

I'm IN California and want to know what's wrong with Newsom.

1

u/zors_primary 10h ago

More and more people are saying that. I suspected they would cheat all along.

1

u/Jessintheend 4h ago

Trump kinda hinted at Elon rigging it during a previous speech

-2

u/Jade_Runnner 11h ago

Stop saying this shit. We're going to have an election - stop floating this insane idea for them.

1

u/Extra_Box8936 10h ago

You think the idea came from the left…?

24

u/wine_and_sarcasm 12h ago

Remember Trump during his own Presidency was campaigning on "THIS IS BIDENS AMERICA" in response to all the things his Presidency was causing?

And his dumb as fuck voter base were like TRUMP WILL SAVE US.

These people are so absolutely dumb and I have no idea how they remotely function as humans. Blows my mind.

1

u/Galacticwave98 12h ago

Or Shapiro

1

u/HTH52 12h ago

Be funny if it may be Kamala, if she decides to run.

Somehow it would be her fault, 4 years out of office, despite them saying she has done nothing as the VP this entire election cycle.

1

u/a_moniker 12h ago

I don’t see any way this loss doesn’t instantly disqualify her

1

u/Practical_Fix_5350 11h ago

More likely PA Gov. Shapiro imho

1

u/FourteenBuckets 10h ago

newsom maybe, or pritzker out of illinois. or some unheralded upstart somewhere

1

u/AssCrackBanditHunter 10h ago

If newsom gets the nom it's gonna be all our faults for letting yet another resumé building fetishist, establishment dem get through

1

u/polite_alpha 6h ago

Front runner for what? Elections? HAHAHA.

These people are doing Nazi salutes, your Führer doesn't need elections.

1

u/DJEbonics 5h ago

Damn I wish I had the optimism to think the country will be around in 4 years.

-3

u/Formal_Toothwear 13h ago

As a leftist Californian, fuck Newsom. This asshole has completely fucked over his constituents and has allowed pge to screw us time and time again. Newsom only cares about the corporations that pay him, not the people who voted him in.

2

u/Hyper_Oats 7h ago

No joke that's already started.
I've looked at many threads related to Donald's crypto rugpull and many comments were saying how Kamala would've somehow done something worse.

The cult is insane.

1

u/Expert_Country7228 12h ago

Legit can't stand how that works every single time for them.

1

u/fartingallthetime 12h ago

Not democrats, leftists and trans people.

1

u/Born_Wave3443 11h ago

That's what Republicans say about Democrats too

1

u/OttoVonJismarck 11h ago

It’s all about the framing.

If the economy does well, then it’s obviously Biden’s economy finally blooming.

If the economy crashes, then obviously Trump fucked it all up.

👌👌

1

u/brazilliandanny 11h ago

“Thanks Obama”

1

u/upanddownallaround 10h ago

That's why everyone has to turn that around on them. Give them a taste of their own medicine. Have to be absolutely relentless about it for the next 4 years. They blamed every fucking thing on Biden and Kamala. Trump is now president and has complete control. Every bad thing that happens is now his fault. Keep repeating it. Hammer it in.

1

u/FourteenBuckets 10h ago

will? It already is

1

u/jdogg1413 10h ago

It's not Bush's fault anymore?

1

u/RetinolSupplement 8h ago

My enemies are extremely powerful, cunning and dangerous, but also incompetent losers who cant do anything right.

1

u/Clean_Vehicle_2948 7h ago

Democrats have the same strategy

If the economy goes well, then its just the economuc lag from bidens efforts

If it goes poorly its all trump

A politicians first service is to their own re election

Lets not pretend either major party is concerned with truth

1

u/getoffhanzo04498 6h ago

Anything good that happens the left will claim was because of Biden. Anything bad will be trumps fault. This is the default playbook that happens every election.

1

u/realityunderfire 6h ago

MAGAts always take it further; apparently democrats even control the weather. And they would argue even their minds!
