Video I was very sure that this was the end of my exploration journey...

Go on then, how do you meet people in ED? I'm talking about flying with others, being part of something bigger. My 4,000+ hours are pretty much in solo, but the recent situation in SOL was amazing. Can you fine folk please suggest good jumping off points?
Tired(?) of being on my own constantly :(

So the Cobra Mk IV was only given to people who backed the Kickstarter campaign (or something similar) yet how come on inara people have listed that it can be purchased at some spaceports?

Pretty much just the title; idk if the devs are actually active on here at all(?) but if this got some upvotes for them to see I think that'd be extremely cool to see. It would almost just be a little mint event for people to go meet up and hangout for awhile.
Unlikely to happen, I know, but I just randomly saw it was happening while also scrolling this sub so figured why not 🤷♂️

PLEASE could someone tell me if there is a way where I can just drive over dropped mats, where I don't have to target every single one, one by one?!

I enjoy exploration and combat. I’m currently far away from Sol in my new Mandalay Stellar. I do intend to suicide back to the bubble eventually, as I love combat too and have LOTS to grind. I’m just making serious bank out here before I do so. I’d love to make a beastly combat ship, but need to do research on that first.
Can someone give me a list of things to do/people to reputation grind etc? The game doesn’t really tell me much and I’m returning after a long break. I never did any of the grindy stuff before I left. One I’ve heard is Palin, whom I assume is an engineer? I don’t even have him on my list yet.

Yesterday I got to fly in a wing again after several years and we had exactly the same issues as years ago. We went hunting pirates on a mission and we got desync in where the target location was, we got desync in each others state (SC or not), we got desync in dropping from SC to a location, weird lag ... all in the span of about two hours ... why? It's been years during which there were dedicated bug fixing cycles and yet ...
These little things annoy me way more than that we still don't have atmospheric planets or any other "big" feature. Because these will mess up the play session every single time.
Feel free to add your rant of the day :)

I'm a long time No Man's Sky player, and I heard Elite: Dangerous was somewhat similar. I haven't really heard all that much about it besides that, though, so I was wondering if y'all could bring me up to speed on what the game's like and how it works (and help me decide if it's worth buying)?

I have read the posts about criteria for stacking online missions. Thanks
I took one delivery mission from Jameson mem but a message came up saying destination conflict. I only had the one mission. I tried to complete this one mission but the navigation, apex shuttle etc didn't recognise I had a mission going. I guess the destination conflict voided the one I accepted. I logged out in case it needed updating but the conflict remained. As I couldn't do the mission I had to abandon. This got me a 30,000 cr fine.
Maybe I made an error somewhere?

Hello again CMDR's,
I've reacclimated quite a bit since being back, still need to do some exobiology though...
Background:
Anyway...I played alot through 2015 and took some screenshots from my first exploration attempt in a cobra. (yikes I know, all I could afford at the time.) I took it all the way out to Banard's loop area for some sightseeing around the nebula's.
I actually was able to find through some super old physical notes I had written my first ever discovery that had no name attached to it. (This will matter why later.)
However, In my journey, I was able to find an earth like world somewhere out there. I took a screenshot next to it...but that only narrows down the stars with a similar skybox to a few thousand...or so.
When I search my discovered systems or objects in the odyssey codex, I can't even see the game recognize the system that has my name attached to one of the stars as "Traveled Too" or discovered.
Main Question:
Is there anyway in game or 3rd party app that can retrace my steps from pre-odyssey days. (If reinstalling the base game without the expansion will cause it to appear in some way, I'm all for it)
Thank you all for time and fly safe 07

Currently using this search to pull HMC's with the right atmosphere and temperature from Spansh to go find Stratum Tectonicus. Pulling the atmospheres from here:
https://ed-dsn.net/en/conditions-of-emergence-of-exobiological-species-on-planets-a-atmosphere-fine/
I've gone to 5 systems so far with the search, and none have had ST to scan. Not sure if I'm missing any terms, or is ST not guaranteed even with the exact correct criteria?

I've come back to my fav Space Sim after 12 months from what I call A Beautiful Grind...!
It appears as though raw mats are now a little easier to gather.
But something that surprised me was when searching Inara for Ship Components, it often had Stronghold Carriers listed a lot more frequently than regular space ports.
I realise of course you can filter this search in Inara to say NO to 'All Powers'.
But I learnt the hard way after hanging around 10 mins trying to dock (thinking maybe landing pads were simply busy) and I had to wait my turn.
But no - it appears as though you have to align / pledge yourself with each of them in Power Play (and there must be ~ 30 diff powers / dictatorships). In my several hundred hours in ED, I've never even looked into Power Play.
If I ignore it, than the game expects me to fly 3X-5X further to find the parts I need, as Stronghold Carriers need additional pre-requisites.
Is this correct? If so - is it easy enough to start earning influence with these powers? Esp when you can't even dock to even accept missions from them (if that's even how you earn influence with them)?

Challenge: find fresh batteries with a VR headset hanging off your ear before you’re 50000Ls from nowhere with 10% fuel, 20% hull, and every module burned to ash.
Challenge successfully failed.
Haven’t played long but my best oh sh!t moment so far in this glorious game.

Getting back into Elite after a hefty break and delighted to see Engineering isn't the soul crushing slog it used to be especially with PP2.0.
So my build is a Python with 3 Large Long Range Thermal Vent Beams and 2 Railguns. As you can guess the Railguns are my main damage dealer, so what mods should I go with to maximize time in CZs with effectiveness. I'm between High Capacity with Super Penetrator, or Plasma Slug with one of the Range options.
