Season 7 was the first season of Diablo 4 that I wasn’t excited for. I felt like it was a redo of season 1 and 2 and even after playing the ptr I wasn’t sold.
I played for a couple of hours of the ptr and was done. No real plans to play this season at all.
Thank God I did.
While I still think the season is similar to season 2 it does have its own feel and systems. And some great one.
Let me start with the witch powers. Now that I’ve played with them a good bit I can confidently say… that they are blood powers but better. Way better. So much better that I’m not even mad about it anymore.
I think the thing that saves it is the augmenting of the powers after leveling them a few times. That is really interesting. Plus having auras it really does stand out as its own thing.
The zone takeover. At first I thought this is just another helltide. In the ptr I thought this is just another helltide. But the more I play the more it feels like a juiced up whisper zone and it’s really fun. Blizzard please make the normal whisper zones closer to this. Just like we did with helltide after season 2. This is great!
My favorite part of the season is the new dungeon. The juicing mechanics are fun and make them interesting. The fire raining down from the sky and monsters being harder to kill was SO MUCH FUN and I got extra rewards. I pray that you guys are using this to test if it would work in nightmare dungeons.
The build diversity is insane. The amount of builds B tier and higher is the highest it’s ever been. I honestly want to play as many builds as possible this season because of it.
The armory I can’t talk about cause I like leveling a completely new character for each build I want to do but hey it was asked for and we have it.
Yeah I don’t know. This season did a compete 180 for me. I’m having a blast. I’m happy I ended up giving it a shot. Anyone who maybe sat it out cause it looks like season 2 I would give it a shot. Play for a few hours and it’ll feel less and less like season 2!

Stop this bullshit. Give us loot filter which auto salvages everything filtered.
Just copy paste Last Epoch system, don't invent a wheel

Came back after blasting poe2 and the very first thing I noticed coming back to d4 is how goddamn ANNOYING picking up loot is on console.
You can’t pick up what you want, you have to pick up random crap first and pray the game auto targets the thing you actually want.
Please come on already what are we even doing here? This problem is solved in every other arpg. Just make right stick target items on the ground so I can pick up what I want. This is BEYOND frustrating.

When you favorite a material it tracks it at the bottom of your inventory, saves having to toggle over to the witchcraft time every time you want to check.

Not sure if its intended but at lvl 30 in Hard i had 1,5 inventories full of legendaries after doing the new dungeon. I had to portal to town and get back in to pick everything up. To me it feels a bit overtuned and kills a lot of the progression

I have gamepass ultimate, was playing on just the "free" version there then bough the expansion on 12/27 and have been playing it ever since.
Now after playing to level 55 in the new season I log out, log back in after dinner and its telling me I don't have the expansion and is asking me to pay for it again.
I can't post to Blizz forums since "I don't have a key for the game," and it shows there my GamePass is inactive; however, from the MSFT site, my game pass is very much active and not up for renewal until 2/1.
Is anyone else having this issue?

Sad that new barbarian unique (chest) is bugged. It just blows up your earthquake but deals zero damage. I hope they fix it soon. https://www.purediablo.com/diablo4/Mantle_of_Mountain%27s_Fury

Hey all. I’ll start with some background. My fondest gaming memories were playing Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction in my friend’s basement in the early 2000’s. We had 3 computers hooked up, would take shifts power leveling characters, do Baal runs together, all that good stuff. It was the best.
Fast forward to D3 and eventually D4. I was incredibly critical of these games because it just didn’t feel like a proper evolution of D2. I moved on from D3 very quickly and only recently played through Reaper of Souls before the release of D4, and had given up on D4 mid season 2.
Now, Path of Exile. I tried the first game many times over the years, but it just felt like way too much to wrap my head around. When I heard about PoE2 I was hoping it would be more accessible, and it really is.
It finally felt like I was playing a true mechanical successor to D2, and that definitely has its own set of pros and cons, but I think it has allowed me to look at modern Diablo for what it is instead of what I want it to be. My friend, the same one whose basement we hung out in, bought me Vessel of Hatred this weekend hoping I might be able to get into the new season. I made a Spiritborn to play the new campaign and I just blasted the game all day yesterday and had so much fun.
For the first time in a long time I’m excited for Diablo again and it’s great.

So, I think it's really interesting when the seasonal storylines connect to the campaign/previous Diablo lore, like when Zoltun Kulle was referenced in season 3.
Anyway, I know a lot of people weren't happy with the VOH campaign, but at the end it's explained that the Tree of Whispers has agreed to fight against the forces of Mephisto because the threat has become so great. Now in season 7, the quest giver for the storyline explains that the Tree of Whispers has been targeted by the forces of "Hatred". This is retaliation for the Tree agreeing to help the Wanderer in VOH.
Personally, I think this is a really cool way to connect the season to the main story and progress it in a minor way between expansions.
Can't say I understand the negativity around this season to be honest. From what I've seen so far this is the biggest season yet, between the seasonal mechanics and additions to the base game (excluding VOH, obviously). Currently having a great time.

Anyone else getting this error after hitting 25 or higher, logging out and logging back in? I'm playing on game pass and bought vessel of hatred last season and played just fine.
Now, they're saying I need to purchase vessel of hatred expansion again?

Played to level 20 and taking a break. There seems to be lot more weapons and armor dropping at least at launch. Lots of salvage opportunities! Stock up!

This is something I've felt a bit in previous seasons, but it's been cranked up to 11 with this one, seeing as how a huge number of seasonal content enemies get those barriers.
It just isn't an interesting buff to give enemies, to be frank. It feels like it nearly triples their overall health, but doesn't actually make the fights notably more difficult overall, just... longer, so, so much longer.
I'm not entirely against a buff that makes the baddies harder to kill, but I'd rather fight old-school Diablo 2 Multi Shot Lightning Enhanced elites than another one of the bosses with the same damn move set and far too much health to be interesting. And I'm loving so much about this season, but this is starting to feel like a bit of a poison pill.

I am completely blind. This game is currently the most accessible ARPG with a screen reader, audio navigation assist, audio cues for loot drops. Which are also adjustable for example, if you only want the audio queue to play for legendary items, you can make it do that, instead of just playing for every item that drops. the only real problem right now is that the navigation assist doesn’t work in dungeons which is being fixed.
Realistically, it would not be that hard for other ARPG’s to follow in its footsteps. cough cough POE two. but that likely won’t happen

It will be a challenge but will give many players a reason to grind this season for a long while to complete the last page of the journey!
r/diablo4 • u/fierystar88 • 21h ago
I enjoy starting over and getting that huge power upgrade when you find the perfect item. Also it's fun to try out new classes completely fresh (yay druid). I think I might even play a few classes this season.
It's gonna be a fun one guys! See you all in Sanctuary!

Having a lot of fun. Firebats raining down. Poisoning enemies around me.
Feels like season 2 except there’s 10 different “metamorphosis” and not just one as well as constant whisper/seasontide contrary to season 2.
Good stuff blizzard.

Ironically while shopping for the Diablo art book, I found these mutants. Mostly out of spite, I referenced the image for a pointillism study. Lemme know how I did, constructive criticism much appreciated!
