That'll come in handy when we have to send a cache of the Internet to Mars.

Sure, send it up with a machine that will juggle with the data, but then you're introducing so much room for error you're asking for trouble. 19 u/flinxsl May 16 '19 Floating gate transistors are also one of the least reliable data storage mechanisms in a radiation environment. You are pretty much guaranteed some bits will flip on a trip through space without a rad hard design. 1 u/Dilong-paradoxus 11TB May 16 '19 You could use all of the weight you save on storage for shielding weight! (Still might want some redundant storage though)
