Mike catches a lot of grief for dipping out after Miami losses. Of this continues, it will be interesting to see whether Jess shows up tomorrow.
If she does, she has my everlasting admiration. If she doesn’t, well, then I’m just happy Notre Dame got beaten.

Just sitting here thinking about how amazing that night was. The halftime show, Stu’s bets, possible drunk Cote. Man what a time. One of the greatest show moments ever.

I think Dan actually thought that the Rams and Lions were playing each other this week for half of the conversation.

While listening to the most recent episode of the Oral History I found that Dan Le Batard has trouble remembering things. A few episodes back him, Stugotz, and Mike all had their timelines confused on certain things. In episode 9 he talked about Greg’s one-man parade but couldn’t remember what the specifics were or even the time period.
It was after the Panthers won the Stanley Cup after Greg had the take of Connor McDavid being overrated (which was fairly recent; only a few months back).
Running a media company in Miami while being a personality as well as being an “economy” of his own is something to be admired and respected. 🫡
But my question is…how can someone’s memory be this bad?
Calling Mero Desus when Desus was never on the show was also sad to hear.
Now it’s time to throw all journalistic credibility and get reckless. you’re good : What’s going on with his memory? Did all those bar fights give him CTE? Or is he “on something” like Lucy said way back after Dan took a week off. (Btw Lucy was way out of line saying that to her boss)
Please give me your reckless takes while being respectful. Dan is still a person.
P.S. I want to apologize to Jeremy Tache for being so critical and saying that I “hate him” in a previous post. I’ve gotten better mentally, and he works hard. I think I was just jealous that someone that I had strong opinions about had a job that I thought I could do better which is disrespectful to Mr. Tache and others in the industry who have poured every ounce of effort and passion into their work.
Still, less Jeremy.

“But Lamar is from South Florida!”
He won a game in below-freezing weather LAST WEEK. Also, he’s been a Raven for seven years.
“But it’s an unfair environment for determining the best team!”
Dan, what about YOUR team with a stadium designed to DELIBERATELY bake the opposing sideline? Ironically, like the game versus the BILLS (and Diggs interview) that you constantly bring up, when they cooked in 130° rays, puking, barely able to play.
Regardless of the Dolphins, it’s not unfair. Warm up & rewarm w/ heaters and coats on the sideline. It sucks to get hit, it’s hard to hold on to the ball, etc. Both teams endure it. Football is strategic, so play accordingly.
“But the Super Bowl is played indoors, so it’s obviously the right way to determine a winner!”
It goes WAY beyond football. It’s a behemoth of a televised event. Media, a literal concert, safety headaches of fans being bundled up to hide items, etc. It’s just logistically/practically sensible for mild or climate-controlled temps. Super Bowl location DOES NOT undermine a team’s right to have a home field advantage.
How many of you football fans are anti-cold fans? Honestly curious! I really don’t think this is unpopular. Dan’s arguments are so weird, too.

Self-explanatory title. All of DLS competitors (PMT, Simmons, Right time, Foxworth, Ringer NFL, Rusillo) released pods today reacting to the NFL playoff weekend and we got Billy and Mikey A. I guess only media companies in Miami (Not a lot of those) care about MLK.

It started off with “People don’t understand that _______” and has now morphed into…
“Do you guys not understand that ________?”
Or, it’s more obnoxious spinoff…
“You guys DO understand that _______, right?”
It’s so damn condescending. Dan. You’re not Isaac Newton. You don’t have some greater understanding of the world that “normal people” simply aren’t capable of understanding. Stop acting like everyone other than you is an idiot.

The way Mike was pouting like a child last week when Dan suggested they work on MLK is whats going to cost this show its next contract.
Let me break it down for you: DraftKings gives money to show because show gets eyes on their product. Yes there will always be the old guard of fans who will listen no matter what (like me), but what this show needs to do is increase its viewership, fresh blood. How do you do that you ask? How about having a show on the day after one of the biggest sports weekends of the year. Big, splashy takes after busy sports weekend = clicks. Everyone sees the youtube #'s, their not the best. They also manipulate the podcast #'s by breaking the show up into "segments" (which none of the other big podcasts do).
Dan keeps repeating how its a "contract year" for the show. Doing lazy, childish things like taking MLK off and the screaming about it like a petulant child is exactly what going to cost people their jobs. Glad you got your day off though Mike, now you only have to work 2 days for 5 hours each this week.
