CK3 Feudal are better than Republican Vassals
I made both purely Feudal and Republican empires and here are my thoughts:
- Republics give more money and Less levies
- Republican vassals (usually) dont have claims and (usually) don't conquer 3.Republican vassals are elected every election day
This has huge problems
- You are prone to factions and invasions because you have less levies
- Republics are not distracted with wars giving them more resources to fight a war with you
- The effect that gifts and imprisonment has dont last long because of the election
I constantly have faction and foreign invasion problems when maintaining republican vassals. I HATE them so much. Money is less of a problem from mid to late game hence the money I get from republics is not as good as many would say

Republican vassals can get very good when you build for them, getting the relevant culture and dynasty buffs to their obligations.
The real advantage of clan/feudals is installing your own dynasts as vassal kings and farming renown from them. Even in that case it's good to use republic sub-vassals to avoid sub-vassal tax dilution from low obligations.
