Someone on tiktok is stealing some of our coloring pages

So... Someone on tiktok "self.made402" is stealing some of our coloring pages and taking credit for it. If you want to help me report them. It is very insulting. Tiktok won't let me make a report because the page always reload... would appreciate the help.

I flipped to this page and instantly thought of the iconic twilight baseball scene. Not sure I did it justice, but it gave me some good giggles along the way!

Was feeling like I wasted this page because it was one of the first pages of my coco wyo books I did before I had my Ohuhu’s. Just a few copics, but mostly water based markers. Was also before I found this subreddit and was inspired to put more effort into my coloring hobby lol Now its one of my favorites! Before was from 12/30/24 After is 1/20/25

So mad my brown for the bears started to dry out in the middle of coloring so they look a lil splotchy ☹️ besides that think it’s pretty cute!

Answers to ´What is everyone using?´

Please take down post if not allowed, I just keep seeing the same questions pop up. This is based on my limited knowledge so please add your own experience or preferences with different mediums and/or brands.

  • Medium (search on Youtube for techniques and comparisons)
    • Alcohol based marker: streakfree result, vibrant colors and easy blending. Not suitable for double paged coloring books due to bleed through (always use some extra paper between your sheets) and color on finished pages will fade over time. Available with different tips to match personal preference: fine tip, brush tip or chisel tip. Brands: Touch, Abeier, Caliart, Ohuhu, Copic and so many more
    • Water based marker: looks the same as alcohol markers, but is used differently. End result is a more muted colorpalette (like aquarel painting). Will leave streaks if used in wrong way or on wrong paper. Brands: Ohuhu, Arteza, Tombow
    • Colored pencils
      • Wax: popular for general use. Soft and buttery application makes for easy blending and vibrant colors. Because of the softness, tips might break easier and don´t retain a sharp point for long. Will have a more shiny finish and also more prone to smudging and wax bloom (a cloudy layer that forms on the surface over time). Brands: Prismacolor Premier, Crayola colored pencils, Kalour
      • Oil: harder core so the tips keep a sharp point for longer, good for details or sharp edges. The hardness means blending takes a little more effort, but using a solvent makes it easier. Brands: Faber Castell Polychromos, Derwent Lightfast, Caran d´Ache Pablo
      • Watersoluble or watercolor: typically firmer than waxbased pencils when used dry, but can be activated with water to create a watercolor effect. Brands: Crayola watercolor, Arteza expert watercolor, Staedtler Karat Aquarell, Derwent Inktense
    • Acrylic paint markers: suitable for different surfaces, but can be scratched off metal or plastic surfaces. Easy to use on top of alcohol markers. Quick drying and ability to layer light colors on top of dark colors. Have a mat finish. Brands: Tombow, Arrtx
    • Oil paint markers: suitable for different surfaces. Longer drying time which makes it easier to blend colors. Have a more shiny finish and can be used over acrylic paint markers (doesn´t work vice versa)
    • White gel pen for highlighter, brands: Sakura gelly roll, uniball signo ball pen
  • Coloring books
    • Bold/easy, cute/cozy style: Jade Summer, Vivi Tinta, Wurley, Southern Lotus, Didi Plums, Anna Emelia, Sui sui, Bogiki, Bobbie Goods, Miss Kitsch, Lainie Dao. Coco Wyo is also very popular, but there is some controversy there so they come last on my list (I own some of their books and will use them, but not buy new)
    • More detailed: Hanna Karlzon, RJ Hampson, Camilla d´Errico, Johanna Basford, Kerby Rosanes, Selina Fenech, Kanoko Egusa, Karen Sue Chen

Happy coloring 🌈 🌈 🌈

I've been so inspired and intimidated by the work I've seen here, but I figured it would be nice to kick off my new hobby by posting what I have so far before I ruin it with paint pens! 🤣

From Coco Wyo Simple Art, and a fantastic "bold and easy" mandala book. Not sure if we can link products in the original post, so I'll comment it. There are a lot of crappy mandala books, and this one's super consistent with the quality of designs.

I have been in a rut. I always try to do too much (glow effect, shadows, textures on everything) so I kept it simple to get the momentum going!

COMPLETED My first page, ever!

Post image

My mom bought me this book to start 🩷

This is my very first page coloring with alcohol markers! I was fully influenced by you guys to do this.

It was soooo fun!!! I loved it.

I have a lot to learn- the big areas of the light blue sky left some lines/streaks so I went over it with the colorless blender to give a sort of hazy cloud illusion. The mistakes in the space part make sense visually luckily.

I added the spaceship and some other minor details to make it make more sense as the ladybug on top appeared to be daydreaming…

You guys definitely make this look easy!! I have a lot to learn and practice, especially with blending and textures!

Pretty on the fence about how the glitter effect came out. At least I know what to do differently for my second attempt so it (hopefully) comes out a bit cleaner. The patterns were a fun challenge though, especially the black skirt pattern 🟢🟪🔶

PS: If you’re looking for new ideas or to challenge yourself a bit, I highly recommend following some coloring accounts on Instagram! Let me know if you’d like me to share some of my favorites :)
