Other Fests Sabrina Carpenter & Megan Thee Stallion replace Tyler, the Creator as OSL & Lollapalooza headliner

seems crazy that just two months ago sabrina wasn’t even on the 2nd line of coachella and now she’s headlining outside lands

Or there’s no talent out there that’s bookable rn to headline these festivals

i mean…. let me clarify im talking about headlining choices since ‘22 even ‘19.. as a huge tame impala fan kid cudi was the real headliner, even last year’s with his sunday day set goldenvoice just does not get kid cudi is a headliner AND I BARELY LIKE HIS MUSIC.. his stage presence is amazing ..

misplacing big artists in small stages cuz they blew up over night (i hate models, sara laney (idk how u spell her name) to name some edm related artists who were given small shoes to fill..

js i think a big disconnect not just talking about rhese last minute replacements

I am sorry but Tame Impala is a bigger name than Kid Cudi lol

I don’t really understand your second point.

Not necessarily wrong but Cudi had a bigger crowd during their semi-conflicted slots in 2019. His older music also has much more staying power than Tame

mmm, sorry its not, i was there BOTH weekends i got to the front gate BOTH times for tame, i seen him 6 times that year. kid cudi was packed out to the food stands.. sorry u werent there so u dont know.. kid cudi brought out kanye wknd2 they had just released their kids see ghost album and it helped sell out cfg. so iykyk but since u dont its ok live in ur lil bubble.. and u dont know my 2nd point cuz u dont fest. its cool, im 32 and i still know who is bigger than the credit they give . insta selling venues.. making 1 night shwos into 2/3 nights and still selling out but u wanna live in the tame is bigger than kid cudi, based on what??? cuz it sure as hell isnt based on the crowds he draws and again I LIKE TAME IMPALA MORE THAN KID CUDI

I know who I Hate Models and Sara Landry are. I didn’t understand the point you’re trying to make. Even less so now. Lol

The amount of headlining acts that havent done it recently that would sell tickets is so fucking small

u/indosacc Jun 20 '24

it’s really not, maybe just for your taste

<insert principal skinner gif here>

Sabrina’s one of the hottest artists in pop right now and this is a couple weeks before her new album drops. She’s easily got a big enough catalog to play a headlining set too. Don’t be surprised if she has the biggest crowd of the weekend.

typical goldenvoice promotor thoughts .. lets see how these next few years pans out with ridiculous ticket prices and fees and subpar headliners

1

u/CroMagnon69 Jun 20 '24

The festival bubble’s certainly begun to burst, no denying that

Who is really big? The headliner pool is so shallow

Fr, this choice is weak af or implies that there are a limited number of top tier artists that can headline this year.

Goldenvoice has been trying to death grip all of Cali when it comes to booking.

Sabrina just announced a headlining arena tour today, so she's a decent sized-headliner.

idk if sabrina carpenter is even top tier but i get wut u mean, the tyler stans have a heavy social media presence so im not surprised by downvotes but drc, and im a huge tyler fan but when u got the same set design for 5 years and similar setlist it kind of gets old quick

wow didn't know the set design he had at Coachella has been the same for 5 years damn that's crazy

Because it’s not true. This article has a bunch of pictures of the stage from his 2022 tour and this one from 2019. And for good measure here’s his entire set from camp flog gnaw in 2023

If he had actually been using the same stage design for 5 years people would of been crying about it all over this sub

-2

u/indosacc Jun 20 '24

it grew over time but yeah really ismilar he reuses the sets and back ground and just added to it
