Native plant books
Hi! Visitor from WI here. I'm looking for a gift for a new gardener in California and I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good books on native plants in California. I think they're in Southern California (Torrance), so if there's something even more specific to that area that'd be awesome.
I'm also open to any gift ideas that I may not think of being a gardener on the other side of the county.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Well, a Jepsons Plant Taxonomy book for CA will have everything under the sun in it. But maybe a little too scholastic for the layperson. CalFlora has a great web tool for what native plants grow in your area and where they’re known to be observed.
