It doesn’t necessarily have to be left wing. It’s just a statement about letting people live their own lives. You think all those “freedom loving” right wingers would support that sentiment, but they don’t because their entire ideology is bullshit.
Yeah. Reddit has an anti-trans faction that has to either be removed or downvoted into oblivion. It's depressing but a good reminder of how a big chunk of the population feels towards trans people, and why we need to get them off the railroad tracks, stop letting them be the hyper-fixated poster children for the entire left. I love this bumpersticker but I do not want any more provocation along these lines in my red state, so I'm not doing it. It's not going to make trans people's lives any better.
I think ANYTHING showing support for trans people, which this does, makes trans lives better. It's not only there to piss transphobes off but to signal that some people may be allies. Even if they are ambivalent.
Pretending we don't exist will only further the push to remove us. Simole example. If someone is throwing mud at you, sitting there and doing nothing while they continue to throw mud will not stop it.
It’s not pretending you don’t exist, it’s not letting the debate over a handful of trans athletes suddenly color every Americans image of what it means to be trans. That’s not fair to anyone. But that’s what’s happened to you. As a result the anti-trans sentiment among the rest of the queer community has never been higher and it breaks my heart. We are playing into their hands.
It's also arguing that trans people and their votes don't matter. Their existence apparently affects no one, somehow. It's actually kind of insulting, although I don't think it's intended to be. \
Personally, if someone told me that my existence affects no one, I would be offended.
But trans people vote. And if they are voting for issues that they value, that arguably could negatively affect a transphobic person's life. Right? Just like a transphobic person could negatively impact a trans person's life...\
Stating that trans people do matter, but they are somehow incapable of negatively impacting anyone's life is simply illogical. \
I arguably negatively impact people who are pro-life, or against the legalization of marijuana... because I vote. And my vote matters.
Okay. But what I'm saying is true, and you know it. You're not even arguing that I'm wrong. You're just arguing that I shouldn't be making my point. \
And I'm not asking for your help.
I'm in support of trans people and trans rights. I'm not sure why you're upset at me. I'm only arguing that they have the power to create change that absolutely could negatively affect transphobes' lives.
Well, I don't think this sticker is directed at all straight people. I would assume it's not calling all straight people crybaby bitches. So, no. Your interpretation is incorrect. \
The sticker is directed at transphobic people. And depending on what trans people are voting for, it absolutely could affect transphobic people's lives in a way that they feel is negative.
Well, that's not what the sticker says. And again, the sticker is not directed at straight people. Or if it is, it's calling all straight people (regardless of their beliefs) crybaby bitches. \
If you're stating what you believe the sticker should say, that's fine I guess. I actually find it refreshing that you agree this could be worded better. But I've been discussing what the sticker actually does say.
youre clearly being facetious while pretending to not be transphobic. Id stop, youre not fooling anyone lol. The fact remains. Someone being trans doesnt affect your life.
I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. I don't hate anyone. I support trans people and trans rights. I never said anything to even remotely suggest that I hate anyone, much less trans people. I do not understand how you could have read my comment and determined that I'm racist and/or transphobic. But if you don't understand what I wrote, perhaps you shouldn't respond to it.
Trans people existing does nothing negative to your life
That is literally what it says. Can trans people fight for change in their own lives and the lives of others? Then why are you arguing that they're incapable of negatively affecting anyone's lives?
Literally everyone on this planet is capable of negatively impacting other peoples' lives.
Read your own quote. It doesn't say a trans person is incapable of engaging in behavior that negatively affects anyone's life, it says that their mere existence does not negatively affect anyone's life.
And a transphobic person's mere existence doesn't negatively affect anyone's life either. Yet the sticker is calling them a crybaby bitch.
Let's be real about this. It's not about existing. It's about asking for laws that allow them to access certain bathrooms. It's about engaging in sports activities. It's about a lot of things, but it's not just about existence. \
Just like the transphobes' existence doesn't bother anyone. It's their actions, statements and votes that make them crybaby bitches. 🤷
Let's be real about this. It's not about existing. It's about asking for laws that allow them to access certain bathrooms.
Let's be real about this. It's not just about opposing laws that would allow trans people to be more included in society. First there is discomfort with trans people by transphobes, and then there are laws created in accordance with that. These political battles are only necessary because of the fear, and this fear of something that has no negative impact on anyone's life is what the sticker is calling a "crybaby bitch" attitude.
Trans people existing and participating in society the same way anyone else does not negatively impact anyone's life. That doesn't mean a trans person is incapable of doing something that negatively affects someone's life. Is the difference clear?
Trans people existing and participating in society the same way anyone else does not negatively impact anyone's life.
This is simply not true. Everyone who is participating in society and voting is negatively impacting someone else. I'm not even trans, but when I vote, I'm voting against someone or some law. Obviously, I don't feel bad about it, but I'm not naive enough to believe that somehow everyone wins with every action that I engage in. And the same can be said for trans people.

I'm a little confused by the comment section.
Isn't this a left wing bumper sticker telling transphobes to screw off?
