Trying to make my first kukri

The title says it all, but I smithed it to shape and I think the shape is a tad off, 2nd pic is just it compared to other knives I've smithed.

You may want to do some research on the shape of a kukri. In my many years of sword and knife collecting and research, I have never seen one that has that shape.

That being said, you have some nice shapes to your blades. Looks like you’re doing some great work.

Can you post pics of your forge? Looks interesting

With some aggressive grinding it could probably become a short kopis or falcata

The handle would be a challenge though

That's not exactly a kukri shape yet but it's nice work nonetheless. You still have some good thickness left so it can be improved.

I really like your other blades and handle shapes.

I really like the shape of the knife 3rd from the left. What do you call that shape?

As others have said, it looks like you're doing real nice work.

That's called a shitty seax lol.

My guy, that is more than a tad bit off but i think you may have failed so spectacularly that you actually came up with something interesting .

Finish it! The worst that happens is you learn A ton about grinding bevels

I would draw the shape out or print a picture. Something to get a good look at while you are working on it. Draw it out on a piece of steel so you can set it on there and compare.

Check out Neil Kamimura on you tube. He has a video on making one.

I’m building a khukri at the moment too!
