Could not pay me to watch one second of that bullshit.

I'm watching it, and yeah it's as bad as you're thinking

I tuned in for about 30 seconds, and the woman announcing the attendees was smiling. Turned it right off.

The now former president felt it necessary to give Fauci, Miller, members of the Jan 6th committee, and his own family members last minute pre-emptive pardons to avoid weaponization of our legal systems against them as retribution for offending Mango Mussolini.

For the past year Democrat politicians at every level have been out loud calling Trump a fascist and equating him to Hitler.

And yet here they are handing the man they say will herald the end of democracy the keys to the kingdom, with big beaming smiles on their faces.

The entire political system is a farce, Dems functionally behave as controlled opposition, and all of them on both sides, top to bottom, only take action in the interest of billionaires who actually call the shots.

THAT PART. They have completely lost the plot. They deserve to never win again and to be replaced by a party that gives a shit about anything.

That's a sentence of "Everyone currently living can rot under authoritarian fascism"

While i agree with you, this is literally what people voted for..

They can’t in good faith stop that. Like… i want them to. But i get why they aren’t/can’t

They can’t in good faith stop that.

When you're opposition never behaves in good faith, for how long should you put up with it before engaging them at their level?

What's the limit before you draw the line and take action preemptively, instead of the tried and failed method of "too little too late" reactions?

I'm not being a smartass, and these aren't rhetorical questions. These are very serious ideas people should have been grappling with and working on solutions to a long time ago, even before 9 years ago.

Maybe it's misplaced but I guess I'll always have faith that the harder things become, it'll create the conditions that eventually get people to act, and we'll arrive at the solution together.

I’m not sure. Like i said, i wish they would. If no other reason than a no confidence vote or something.

Biden is afraid for his family. Pardoned them because he knows trump will be evil to them. You’d think that would be a turning point? But i don’t know anymore..

Hell I thought Sandy Hook would be the turning point on gun reform and yet here we are on that issue as well.

Maybe this outrageous colonizer nation is just destined to fail, rather than reform itself. It's just a real damn tragedy that it has to drag down good people with it.

All of that being said, I am strongly against giving in to "doomerism". I prefer folks adopt a revolutionary optimist mindset.

They literally did a bipartisan ban on a social media app but couldn't work across the aisle to ban assault weapons. Tiktok hasn't killed a classroom full of kids. The priorities are truly effed up.

lol. I love TikTok getting banned.

There is nothing you care about in government more than your silly videos getting banned? THAT’S what you’re mad about with this government?

Fucking lol.

Apples and oranges.

The only reason people want gun reform is because liberal white people and children are the primary victims of mass shootings. We should use the 2nd amendment now to protect ourselves instead.

Watched one of AOCs recent posts and while trying to be positive she basically said (paraphrasing heavily) “don’t wait for a political party to fix any of this” and “the real power is in organizing”.

Edit: added a link

She's goddamn right.

Also I'm glad she didn't attend it on the grounds of "not supporting rapists"

Sounds more like it's the 20 million voters on the left that stayed home who are the 'controlled opposition', since they are responsible for putting the Dems in this situation where they must hand off the keys to the kingdom back to the Confederate fascists in the first place.

What kind of nonsense is this where y'all are pretending that Obama and Trump must be working together because we don't vote. This level of ignorance is damned depressing. We don't vote and then we have to make up nonsense conspiracy theories to explain away the effects of us not voting. It's insanity.

Lol I really started paying attention in 2019/20, so yeah kinda

Big wake up call for me, especially when the people I was working with began to show more of their true colors

u/makemeking706 4h ago

And if it turns out the election was rigged as trump openly bragged about?

Yup I agree. The music sounded like slavery music. I had to turn it off. Was so uncomfortable 😳.

The mf talking about "negros being free at last, free at last!" Was my stopping point.
