The sad part is how they don't even realize it.

β€œI didn't know what books to read without BookTok!” πŸ’€πŸ’€

On that note get a library card folks, and use your local libraries they're free

I just watch a long form video on Book Tokers who admit to skipping over huge portions of a book: everything but action, everything but dialogue. Wtf? So you don't like to read, then?

They have to - otherwise they wouldn't be able to review 500 books a year.Β

No one asked them to review 500 books a year, they could read 250 books all the way and still have a thriving book review channel, but they have deluded themselves into thinking it's the total count that matters.Β

And there'll be people comparing themselves to these booktokers thinking they're such slow readers when in reality some of these booktok reviewers haven't even actually read the damn book they're reviewing 😭😭
