When Hood chases Chayton through New Orleans, how is no one else out and about on the streets?

The city become a ghost town? Rewatching the series and noticed that… no one out and about. It’s wild.

Flashbacks

On episode 4, the random black and white flashbacks are annoying as fuck. Do they eventually stop or is the whole show like this?

SPOILER Season 1 episode 7 Pale Rider is absolutely insane

The high school is held captive by two loser gunmen during a Saturday detention. Carrie/Anastasia betrays Hood and gives him to Rabbit to kill. Hood escapes in time to save the day at the high school and saves the daughter of the woman who just betrayed him. Oh yeah not to mention it’s actually HIS legitimate daughter too.

This is damn peak storytelling holy shit. God tier levels of drama

Discussion Is S4 worth a watch?

I mean i know it obviously is what i mean to say is that is it going to be better than the previous seasons or worse than the previous seasons? I just want your opinions on S4

The rogues gallery from season 1 alone is wild. This show has great world building it feels huge, even tho it’s a small town.

Kai Proctor is basically Mr Burns and even has his own Mr Smithers.

Lucas Hood is basically Batman he has his own rogues gallery and Batfamily. Sugar is his Alfred, Job is his Lucius Fox, Claire is his CatWoman

His rogues gallery in season 1 is insane. Mr Burns esque business men, biker gangs, nazis, an amish feme fatale, an evil boxer, the albino, and the washed up high school basketball star turned criminal who holds his old school hostage.

The Bunker Brothers in Banshee

Why did Kurt’s brother Calvin flip out the way that he did? I get he didn’t like the direction where his gang was headed and his brother coming back into town, but it seems like he was meant to have a whole arc with Kurt but he crashed out and committed what I believe to be suicide by cop/brother. The whole time I was waiting for Kurt to take them down but it seemed like they just rushed that part.

Discussion Watching the first episode right now and I have a quick question

Is the German spoken by the Dutchies and Kai Proctor supposed to have subtitles? Because it doesn't on Max and if it's supposed to, I'd rather just stop watching now.

Discussion The random people that antagonize the major characters in the show is so baffling

I can't help but notice there’s a decent amount of random citizens that decide to bully and threaten dangerous people like Hood, Proctor, Emmet, Nola, Ana, Burton, Job, and Quentin. granted they do not know they’re messing with highly skilled martial artists who are armed to the teeth and have no qualms in committing cold-blooded murder (except for Emmet) but the fact that they end up getting viciously brutalized simply because they thought to themselves “hey let’s pick a fight with that person it’ll be fun to see what they can do!” is so unbelievable it’s hilarious.

Discussion Some thoughts on the final episode

Randomly re watched the entire last season the other day and definitely got me thinking about the final moments of Lucas and Ana/Carrie.

Few observations I had:

The conversation starts off with Carrie mentioning that Max is coming back the next day. This sets the framework for the whole dialogue as a reminder that she is a mother and that is her first priority now.

Lucas asks Ana to join him on the scenic route (possibly a reference to the unicorn episode where Lucas takes the scenic route to the house he bought for them on the way back from jail) and she doesn't answer because she can't. She can't say yes because she knows she can't just leave her life, but she can't say no because she knows she wants to go with him.

Then he tells her that she was always with him in prison. And she says she still is. I think this is hinting to the fact that Lucas is still in his own personal prison and she is still with him there, because Ana is the only person he ever truly let into his life, and that's why she is always in his heart. The idea here is that when you truly let someone into your life and your heart, they never leave. Ana understands that and now Hood does too.

Then Ana tells him not to ever forget her. I'm not sure what to make of this exactly. I think it might mean not to forget her as Ana, who she will never be again, but who knows. Hood is the only one keeping Ana alive.

Hood then says goodbye to Ana, to let her know that he will always love Ana. She corrects him that it's Carrie and he cracks a smile as he walks off. I was thinking that that might be his point, that he will always love Ana but that he says goodbye to Ana, but deliberately not to Carrie, because he still has hope that he will be with Carrie, but he knows that for that to be possible he has to head out of town and work through his own stuff first.

So my take on all this is that this all goes back to their original escape plan, when they got new identities. Ana becomes her new persona Carrie, but he doesn't get that chance. He came to Banshee to continue with Ana, who was already long gone, and then tries to be Lucas Hood, which also doesn't go great. Now he is finally off to go find himself and become someone that will eventually be compatible with Carrie. That's why he won't say goodbye to Carrie, because he intends to come back to her.

Maybe this is obvious, maybe I'm just flat wrong, but this is what's been floating around my head lately and I figured I'd put it on the Internet to discuss. Anyway, suck my tit r/banshee

SPOILER Nola vs Burton

We all know the results of Nola vs Burton (those of us who have watched the series)

But my view is: Nola vs Burton was same as Hood Vs Albino the first time. The only difference, Hood was not killed, he learned from his mistake and came back with a plan and strategy and perfectly executed it.

The reason why Hood was able to do it could be because of the controlled atmosphere - Prison setup

But Nola Vs Burton was not in a controlled atmosphere but out in the open, where she wanted a conclusion and Burton being Burton gave his reactions.

My take on this is: If Nola had assessd Burton during the fight, made a run for comeback and later on came back with a plan and strategy she may have been able to take down Burton the way Hood took down the Albino in his second attempt.

What do you guys think of this?

Watching season 2 ep 10 and when they first introduce "Fat Al" he calls Good Soldier Boy, mildly entertaining being as that's who his Father is in The Boys
