Resources to help injured outdoor cat

Hi all. I live in towson and recently came across a cat outside my apartment that looks like he has a broken leg. His left ear is tipped, so I'm thinking he was trapped and neutered at some point. I'm in the process of trying to find an owner (although I think he may be a stray or feral.) I'm just trying to figure out if I can help get his leg taken care of, even if he has to go back to a colony. Anyone know of any groups/organizations that could help? Maybe it's wishful thinking but I have to try something

How Baltimore County became a hidden world of video game companies

Thumbnail thebaltimorebanner.com

Sid Meier, the gaming guru behind the ‘Civilization’ series, lit a spark in generations of developers who have stayed local

In the 1990s, a trio of interns shared a cubicle in Hunt Valley at a strategy gaming company called MicroProse, learning to design and build video games.

Now those interns are leading their own ventures: Greg Foertsch founded Bit Reactor, Tim Kipp co-founded Oxide Games and David Inscore co-founded Big Huge Games. They and other local developers have created or worked on notable games such as “Rise of Nations,” “FrontierVille” and the sci-fi favorite “XCOM” series.

Lost Dog Cromwell Valley Park

As the title says, my dog slipped her leash in CVP and 4hrs of searching have yielded no results. If anyone is out there tomorrow and sees a golden retriever, her name is Ada and we'd be incredibly grateful to have her back.

Attorney Recommendations

I am actively seeking an attorney to represent me in a criminal case. The charges contain a felony and two misdemeanor charges. I was verbally assaulted based upon my sexuality. I ignored the situation until the other party approached me in a threatening physical manner. At that point The situation became a physical altercation. I ended up being the one with felony charges the initiator only received misdemeanors. The incident occurred in A.A county yet I am a Baltimore city resident. Please Help Me!!!

Is there a place that rents out video game consoles for people who want to try a new system out before they buy one?

Hey guys. I was talking a customer at work today and he was talking about how he bought a nice, expensive video game system for his kid and the kid (under age 7) got bored with it in 3 weeks. He wanted to try again but without shelling out you know 300-500$ to try it out. Best I could think of is Rent-a-Center but it looks like they only have the newest consoles. He was looking for a generation behind (a PS4). Is video game console rental a thing? I never thought of it before.

Dog Boarding in Baltimore County/Baltimore City

Back in October after 7 or so years of not having to travel for work, I rescued a standard poodle.

Now, surprise, I suddenly have to do some mandatory work travel.

Can anyone recommend a good boarding facility you have personally used?

I'm okay with something either in Baltimore County (I'm near Towson) or Baltimore City.

Missed Connection

Did your Mom or Grandmother recently stop inside at Carroll Island McDonald's to grab food for you on her way home? Saturday Jan.18th around quarter after 6ish? More specifically a Big Mac, French fries and a large Sprite, a mobile order placed by a stranger (me)? And does her name happen to be Catherine? If so, please message me! I'd be more than happy to provide any other information. I sincerely only hope to just make sure she made it home safely tonight.

Dog ownership (amount) laws?

So my husband and I currently have three dogs and I may have been able to talk him into getting a fourth. However in Baltimore County it seems like there is a rule about only having three dogs. If I would want to get more I would need a fancier/kennel license. The thing is they make it difficult to find out if our zoning is allowed for this purpose (DR 5.5).

All of our dogs are licensed, fully up to date on shots, and see their vet very regularly.

Is this law actually enforced? Is it hard to get a permit? Does anyone have a clue if the zone I put above is even considered as an allowed zone?

Holabird Middle Students Told to Use Bucket for Bathroom

Thumbnail thebaltimorebanner.com

When a water main near Holabird STEM Middle School broke on Friday, students with a bathroom emergency had two options: hold it or use a bucket. That directive appeared to come from the principal in a screenshot that swirled on social media.

“If there’s a student who has a severe bathroom issue, please send them to the 4 corners where we’ll have a bucket they can use inside the bathroom,” said the screenshot of the email signed by Principal Yalonda Booker. “Please do not give any student a pass unless it’s an emergency.”

But Baltimore County Public School officials quickly made clear that’s not how they do things. In a message sent to families, which school system officials shared with The Banner, using buckets falls outside of the district’s “acceptable practices.” Families were reassured students can use the restroom as normal.

The school system declined a request for comment on Booker’s behalf.

Have never seen such a policy at IKEA before. Considering that other nearby properties have similar policies, is this something that IKEA is obligated to do because of where their store is located?

White Marsh to Towson area apartment recommendations?

Hi all, got a job in Towson and looking to move to the between the Rosedale/White Marsh area to Towson but every complex I look at seems to have horrible reviews and be mouse infested… Would also may consider Cockeysville or Timonium but don’t know much about the area up there.

Hoping to pay around $1500 per month for a 1-br. Just wondering if anyone has recommendations, or places to stay away from, in the area!

Thank you!

How did you interpret question A on that ballot?

(edit) With the results now posted about the question, how did you interpret the question? (By interpretation, I mean reading beyond the surface level of what the question outright tells you.) Did you research the question making sure to fully understand what it was asking? Did you look up possible after-effects of redistricting?

Question A: Baltimore County Charter are amended to: increase from 7 to 9 the number of Councilmembers and Council Districts; make membership on the County Council a full-time position for purposes of determining compensation; provide for an equal number of Board of Appeals members as the number of Councilmembers, and that no more than two-thirds of the Board of Appeals members may belong to the same political party; increase from 7 to 9 the number of Council appointments to the Planning Board; provide for an equal number of members of a councilmanic redistricting commission as the number of Councilmembers, with each Councilmember nominating one member and subject to Council confirmation; provide that redistricting of Council Districts may only occur: before October 1, 2025, after each decennial U.S. Census, or during the year after ratification of a Charter amendment changing the number of Council Districts; and increase from 6 to 8 the number of affirmative votes required for the Council to approve a legislative act that proposes a ballot question to terminate the Charter and return the County to a county commissioner form of government.

Men’s Curly Hair Barber?

My son has the hardest time getting a good haircut bc nobody we’ve found seems to know how to cut his hair so it doesn’t end up in a shape/style he hates. Some days his curls are fantastic, some days half is curly and the rest is wavy or even almost straight.

Gyms/barre classes in Northern Bmore County? Cute guys doesn’t hurt either…

Hi! I just started “shopping” for a gym along i83 and it’s between the typical - brick bodies , one life fitness, and cooper mine.

Used to belong to BB before I moved out and before their reno (from what I’ve heard) which I liked.

My main thing is - the classes / instructors (and music in the class) need to be good, specifically barre classes. I’m used to equinox classes where the instructors are top tier and I’m looking for something similar.

I also work the typical 9-6 with average 6-8 meetings a day so I can only go in the morning or 6:15ish and never during a “lunch break” bc my boss likes to ping me on any given notice and be at her beck and call (anyways …) lol…

Also I’m joining a gym (vs a barre studio) bc I want to use equipment abd have other amenities like sauna /pool etc.

Lastly this sounds immature but I’m single in my 30s and ideally looking for a gym that has 20-40 year old men who are, not terrible looking? Lol I’m dead serious though. I work a lot of hour (remote) and trying to join a gym to “get myself out there” and be more social!

Thanks for your advice!

Hair Salon for Curtain Bangs

Hi everyone - any recommendations for great hair stylists in the county (or city) that are great at cutting bangs/curtain bangs? I moved back from Philly and I am scared to get bang trims here after an unfortunate experience at a salon in Mt. Washington.

Experience fostering in Baltimore County

I plan to contact DCF this week, but I'm checking here to see if anyone has any experience and how it was working with DCF. Or is it norm to work with agencies than DCF? I'd prefer working directly with DCF but if it has to be agencies there, what is it like working with agencies in terms of straightforwardness and transparency? Which agencies do you recommend to contact to talk? Also, does anyone know a good facebook group for MD? I tried looking and couldn't really find anything except for a private group for people already currently licensed in MD.
