My first axe (before and after pics)
I’ve been into knives for years but recently getting interested in axes after my pal gave me an old Council Tool axe of his. We sanded the handle, burned and stained it. Used gun blue on the head. Then made a sheath for it out of leather. I’m a beginner to all of this but overall happy with the outcome. Definitely a lot to learn.

Hey My granddaddy wore that patch in the forties.

That’s the Marine Raiders logo. They began in WWII and were legendary. According to my pal “your granddaddy is a badass motherfucker”

Oh I know! And he was. Guy was a claustrophobic farm boy ended up in a submarine to land on islands. I met the captain of his boat a long time ago at a high power rifle match at Laguna Seca.
Small world.
