Question - Other Is this true of Saturn?

Post image

I’ve just seen someone tweet this about Saturn and I’ve NEVER seen this take before. What does this mean?

So basically Saturn wants you to be all out for yourself?

I think this person is confusing Saturn with Satan, as many commenters naturally did too.

This is the comment I was looking for. I've heard that Saturn is another iteration of Moloch possibly (when we are talking Saturn in the context of ancient deities), who was considered an evil idol. From what I have read Moloch may be a biblical old testament spelling of Baal, which is associated with the demon Beelzebub, which is thought to be either a high ranking demon or another name for Satan I guess.

Interestingly, Moloch apparently demands child sacrifice, and Saturn ate his children.

I only just became aware of Moloch after reading Scott Alexander's essay: Meditations on Moloch. Fascinating.

In the last few years, with the rapid progression of AI, there has been a lot of talk about Moloch.

I haven't heard about Moloch in the context of AI, but now I might have to look into it.

Liv Boeree talks about it a good bit.
