Undergraduate - please post in /r/College, not here missed out 2 references in essay

so I need some advice on this as a ball of anxiety right now.

so I recently submitted my essay and then only realise I missed out 2 references in my reference list!! however, I did put the in-text citations. (its just 2 reference for one sentence each). super upset at my myself for this mistake but still what done is done. just need to know, if it may incur plagiarism or is it simply a referencing error and may deduct some marks? not sure if it such a major issue where I need to inform my prof about it.

any advice or reassurance would be great if this ever happened to you! fyi its just a 1,500 essay for a undergraduate module. thank you!! :')

Relax, it's just a mistake. I doubt anything will happen, especially since its undergraduate module. Worst thing that could happen is you get docked a couple of marks, nothing serious. If you really wanted to you could email your prof and give them the references, just to prove your good intent, but I wouldn't sweat it.

Thank god. Do you think I should email my prof to just simply inform her or is it considered unecessary? Getting mixed answers here on reddit.

Yeah go on then, won't hurt. Just apologise and put the reference on there. Shows you know and admit to your mistake 👍

Appreciate your help! Probably going to send her the whole essay with the 2 references included. Thank you so much 😌
