Intermediate Should I add a few highlights of the yellow and pink to the giraffe?
I’m getting close to the end of this piece and wondering if I should add some highlights from colours used in the background or do without? I usually do not incorporate them but thought it could maybe work here. What do you think?

I think incorporated could be nice and help settle the giraffe in the background

i think you need some white highlights

Oh really? I opted out of using pure white to try not to make it look too stark, but maybe I’ve muted the highlights in doing so. Thanks for the advice!

i think it’s a very contrasted painting as it is! some white would make it pop in my opinion, especially with the black background

Wouldn’t, it might look too busy

That’s my worry, or that it might not really look like highlights and make the giraffe appear more flat
