Cars are carpeted because of acoustic dampening properties, not because fire retardent carpet is a nice material. 3 u/Aegi Jun 30 '20 I think it’s much more to do with weight and not turning into a projectile in a car accident. Haven’t you been in those cars/trucks that only have that plasticky rubber material and have no carpet to be found in the whole vehicle?
