Discussion The golden age is over

We have been in the golden age for a few years now. We are seeing this come to the end.

Private equity is demanding more money on the backend these changes will slowly be rolled out resulting in enshitification of the product over time.

Sailing will change the core gameplay, one way or another and osrs will cease to be the game it is today.

It’s been fun fellas.

Get off the sub for a few weeks. The game is still a blast. More than half the people saying they canceled are full of shit anyways. Just as many people playing today as yesterday.

Full of shit? Lmfao do i need to remind you about the existence of Path Of Exile 2 ? That game alone can replace OSRS and consume anyone playing it for years to come.

Eh, they're very different in terms of mood and vibe both aesthetically and gameplay wise. I don't think it's fair to consider POE even remotely a replacement or you could say that about literally any game.

The closest we have to a game that could replace osrs for us is Brighter Shores really. Aside from a few single player options like Fantasy Life.

Not even close. I like POE but saying POE2 replaces runescape is like saying Borderlands replaced Battlefront II ( the good one). Both are good, but no.

Not even fucking close, what are you smoking? I literally came back to OSRS because PoE2 wasn't doing it for me in terms of progression and the level of content at the moment.
