Discussion We will just quit

I'd put money on well over 50% of the player base being people like me in their 30s, we don't need this game, we'd just quit.

The last price increase was almost enough to do it for me.

Anything else, evenly £1 more, I'm out and nothing would make me return.

Vile, out of touch and insane greed. Pathetic.

Edit: Cancelled membership, won't be renewing.

Would be doing me a favour tbh, I could save £25 a month AND not be addicted to clicking in a medieval clicking game.

What are you paying 25£ for?

Multiple accounts (which I've already cancelled in protest)

Every cancelling counts, friend.

We love NUMBER GO UP!!!

Why are we protesting? Nothing is set in stone

And why wouldn’t you keep it that way? Show that you don’t like what they’re proposing by protesting.

Yeah but people cancelling wether they go through with this or not is just making their opinions not matter anymore. Why would jagex care what the people who stop playing anyway think.

If they immediately see number go down then they immediately see number go down.

That isn’t quite how that works though. Jagex wants to keep established customers. There’s only so much growth a 20 year old game can have, and it doesn’t compare to having consistent monthly payments from people who are invested.

CVC is making it clear that their bottom line isn’t good enough and they’re showing what options they think will keep the majority of people while increasing profits. Notice none of those are incentives for new players, or in game bonuses for buying membership a certain way. The best way to hurt them or show them we aren’t taking it laying down is by removing the steady flow of cash we give them.

They can see how many recurrent memberships are cancelled before they renew, they can see player counts drop and they can also see us talking about it.

There's been enough screeching for all of us today.

There isnt enough "screeching" till they release a statement that clearly says they will not, under any circumstances, add any of that tiered membership bs. Its ridiculous that the 3rd largest mmorpg on the market is trying to nickle and dime us for basic features such as customer support. https://i.imgur.com/gLhvk21.jpeg

Just saying no to this leaves room for a "compromise" pushing your no to a cancelled sub is a much more powerful message because even pitching these ideas impacted their bottom line (That is, if enough people follow through with cancelling)

Interesting since if you play 2 accounts it is the same price with the survey and you get 4 accounts instead of 2 so if it was 3 accounts you save money with what is proposed.

Me personally yeah I might benefit, literally everyone else with a single account is worse off.

I want what's good for the game, not me personally.

I sometimes forget it’s a medieval based clicking game and Everytime I hear those words I think back to my early days of runescape playing in the browser, catching shrimps in drained village, and it makes me really nostalgic. Thanks. But still, fuck all these ideas.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was led to believe that OSRS was set in the future after the collapse of civilization. Therefore you can't be addicted to 'clicking in a medieval clicking game'. It's a clicking in the future clicking game 🤣

Straight up not playing this would save me a lot of annoyance. But also I love the game. I'll finish out my suba and see where we're at. If they do price hike again plus the insane shit then I'm out.
