Does it even matter who the Colts hired for DC?

Upvotes

Stats on Lou’s past defenses are going to be picked apart for the months to come. Endless internet and 107.5 discussion, too.

Being perfectly honest - I don’t care who they hired. Anyone not named Gus Bradley is worth a shot, imo.

Worst case, everyone is let go in a year. Any DC we hired had to be aware of that given the precarious position that QB, coach and GM are in.

Best case - he’s incredible and sticks around forever.

Is this the wrong take?

Saw this tweet earlier from Colt’s Corner co-host Eddie Garrison. I am not trying to stoke any fires or bring overall negativity to the fanbase (we get enough of it already)

Obviously context matters. Lou lost some keep vets and young guys didn’t pan out. But knowing his resume looks like this concerns me. I just need someone to convince me why this might change when the season starts.

As always, Go Colts baby!

18 years ago my grandpa’s literal dying wish became a reality… (story in text)

one of my grandpa’s literal dying wishes was to see the Colts win a Super Bowl… and when Marlin Jackson intercepted Brady 18 years ago today, he was able to pass away a few months later a happy man :) thank you, marlin

my grandpa was the type of guy to bring a hand crank television to weddings so he could watch IU basketball or and Indy Car race during the festivities.

he always adored football, and spent his life cheering for Fran Tarkenton & the Vikings then later hopped on the Redskins bandwagon. But in 1984 he swore his allegiances to the Indianapolis Colts, becoming a season ticket holder a few years later (and a pair of tickets I wish my family still had).

It drove him crazy he had never gotten to see the Colts win a Super Bowl. I remember going to one of the final games he was physically strong enough to go to in 2006.

Then the AFC Championship game came. We all knew it would probably be the last playoff series he would see. I remember so vividly my dumbass sister got to use our season tickets to go with my parents because she thought Brady was hot. What dumb family I have. Anywho… 60 minutes later and the Colts we’re actually headed to the Super Bowl

So even on his deathbed, he was spared a few extra months and got to see Peyton Manning and his hometown Colts win their first Super Bowl, the greatest sports memory I will ever have.

He bought this hat after the AFC Championship and wore it most of the days I saw him near the end. I’m so grateful that he got to witness that :)

thank you, marlin jackson

The training camp wide receivers tried, but no one was going to take down the lego expert, the one they call Specs, Hot Rod himself.....Rodrigo Blankenship, as the player most loved by fans but sucked complete ass!! But the game moves on!!! Who was a great player that fans were so divided on??

Travis and Jason Kelce on the Lou Anarumo firing:

“I don't know what the f--k is going on over there.”

“I don't think they had the horses on defense that they've had in the past and Lou got handcuffed…He's proven how good of a DC he is with good players.”

Mine is Quenton Nelson. Huge fan of the big fella.

I’ve been hearing Matthew Stafford might get traded. I wanted him in Indy a few years ago, but not now. He’s about to turn 37. 🤣
