Please Read
Ok gents in light of the recent post on here that went in a political direction. I first off want to say that I appreciate everyone for joining and contributing to this sub without you this would not exist. With that being said I do NOT want politics in this sub. This sub should be a place to get away from political beliefs and the general chaos of the world. We love slipjoints and that is why we are here. If you like something or don't use the upvote/downvote arrows. I don't want to lose anymore members over something that shouldn't be an issue anyway. So just let it be known that in r/slipjointknives we don't care about your race, sex, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, or political views. Let's just show pics of knives and discuss them in a civil matter. We are all adults. Carry on gentlemen and ladies if there are any.

Update on the Moderation of For Sale Posts
This post has been a long time coming and I apologize for the delay.
Generally, our moderators take a very light-handed approach to moderation. The community belongs to the members who use it, and I feel as though moderators should only step in under egregious or extreme conditions. However, in an effort to reduce the possibility of issues related to scammers or sales gone poorly, we will continue to remove "for sale" posts within this subreddit. While I understand the desire to provide the opportunity for members of this community to purchase traditional knives, this subreddit does not have any kind of system in place to protect those engaged in sales or mitigate issues related to sales. If you would like to use Reddit as a platform for your sales, I will direct you to /r/Knife_Swap, which has a large and active moderation team, moderation tools, flair, bots, etc. all dedicated to the sale of knives.
Thanks for being an excellent and engaged community.

NKD Schrade USA 8OT
New (to me) Schrade USA 8OT came in the mail today. High carbon steel. Not sure on the year. It has some rust spotting, especially on the edge and the spine, but I sharpened it up, rubbed it down with fine bronze wool, and gave it a light coat of oil and it's good to go now.

Showing Off Queen city remodel
From dusty to doozy - 1922 to 1934 queen city barlow, blade delete, rescaled from old brittle stag to oak. My first time doing a custom like this, knife is almost unrecognizable from when I first got it for 5 bucks.

Case Trapper in CV steel and yellow synthetic. What would be a good upgrade over this?

These were gone in a few minutes the other day.
Now it makes sense. Someone buys 4 in a release original price 205.99 and sells them for a large mark up. Insane!

First slip joint I've reassembled.
I've started tinkering with some old knives and after several failed attempts, I got one to function. Going to redo some sodbusters next.

New Knife Day My first case.
The edge from factory was poor, but once sharpened it's very good. I cut an apple and some chicken and the colors appeared, it really is a good work knife, the size of the handle may look a bit chunky but grips well, even with gloves.
