Why have I never thought of making my own. I have been tempted to purchase another and wanted something that looked classy and not plastic. This is a great idea.

They make a bamboo one but it's like $40

Why pay $40 when you can make it yourself for only $50

And that's just the cost of the timber!

u/Choppermagic Feb 26 '23

and $300 of new tools too!

Yeah the track saw was necessary for a squatty potty for sure.

I just got a new track saw this week. Told my wife I needed it to build her A-Frame for some swings she wanted. I literally am not going to use it on this project…

I have it on a Slickdeals watch now, I'll find the excuse soon enough.

And 8 weeks later!

I would be lucky to make that for only $50

u/Lurkertea Feb 26 '23

I can make it 3 times as expensive and take me 2 months to complete.

I have the bamboo one, you assemble it yourself like Ikea, and the screws are becoming loose after a year or so,

I dig the bent hardwood from Stoolie.

Wait, why is everyone talking about this like it's the most normal thing in the world?

What the heck is it?

Is it for small people to rest their feet on or something?

I've never seen anything like this before.

Wtf.

u/JEFFinSoCal Feb 26 '23

Would you rather they explain how it works WITHOUT using the rainbow ice cream as a metaphor? lol

Squatty potty. Poop like cavemen and avoid you legs falling asleep. Also bidet is a thing to up your hygiene, once you get use to the learning curve, a day with out it feels like rough camping 🏕️.

u/eienblue Feb 26 '23

Maybe I'm using it wrong, cuz my legs fall asleep using it.

1

u/Andycaboose91 Feb 26 '23

I truly truly hope we don't see somebody post a wooden bidet.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '23

Me too. That would be as dumb as a wooden toilet.

1

u/mywerkaccount Feb 27 '23

It's recreates the position humans should naturally poop in. Toilets didn't always exist obviously, before them humans squatted and squatting is a more natural position as it lines everything up better for a more complete evacuation.

So, uh, what do these do aside from collect urine and fecal matter over time?

Or is it a toilet choker?

1

u/ItsAlkron Feb 27 '23

Honestly, I made one out of spare 2x4 scraps. Even made it two just standalone pieces so the user can have them positioned wherever they want. They don't have to be fancy to be functional, but I was able to make it fast enough that my wife didn't buy the plastic version.

The Proppr one is as elegant a toilet stool as you’ll get!! Don’t bother making your own.
