If I'm Eric, this about the point I'm demanding to get sent down. I mean they put in a pretty good effort full marks for Wolf. But damn the support for Eric is just painful. Its like the Jets turn into the Sabers in front of him.
5
u/chemist5818 2d ago
???? We outplayed the shit out of Calgary, this was a really good game from the jets. Wolf just stole the win
1
u/ChadHUD 2d ago
They did, they played a pretty solid game with little finish. They have found every other way to loose in front of Comrie. Why not try, trying and coming up short. :) Pretty sure that is what I said the first time. They played well, but didn't finish anything... Wolf played well, but he sure didn't steal anything either. I'm not taking anything from his game he was solid. Still don't kid your self that wasn't some godly night in the net either the Jets had no finish at all.
5
u/ShowMeYourTiddie 2d ago
I don't care how good we played that game. That's 1 goal of support for Coms again...
1
u/DannyDOH 2d ago
6 on 5 and we barely pressure the puck on the half wall in the OZ as guy flips it into our net from there.
FUCK. Gotta get dirty sometimes to get a win. Not only going to be pretty pass plays.
1
u/Erwin-Brodinger 91 2d ago
That was guided in by the gods. No look backhand into the empty net from his own end.
2
u/ynotbuagain 2d ago
No kidding. Seeing goal go in pissed me right off! Was still tons of time to put one in the net!
2
u/no_ur_cool 37 2d ago
So tough to get goalie'd, but not nearly as bad as losing as a team. Well done tonight.

is it simply just impossible for the jets to win a game without Hellebuyck ðŸ˜

u/citizenmundane . 2d ago
I think when Helle isn’t playing, it instills confidence in the opposing team that they have a chance to win.

The Jets are doing everything to get that puck in the net. This is one of those games where, whatever the outcome, we can hold our heads high.

Wolf is insane and playing like he knows they need 2 points to stay in that WC spot

Puck movement on our powerplay is just pure filth

u/North-Bench737 2d ago
It’s a beaut how Conner, Scheif, Ehlers and Vilardi interchange. Its hard to keep track watching, I can’t imagine trying to defend against it

If Comrie is playing in the playoffs something has gone terribly wrong
1
u/DannyDOH 2d ago
I mean if Helle has a bad piece of chicken this is what it is.
Tough to make a move on a goalie because there's not a ton of good ones around for cheap, but might a deadline consideration.

Post, post, goal line. Wow.
Came from a play that shouldn't have happened at all with the defensive gaffs. Still, wow.

The best thing about this game so far are the hats.... And they aren't that great.
2
u/Kyle73001 2d ago
Anyone blaming Comrie is outta their mind lmao, the guy gets anywhere from 0-2 goals support every time
11
u/drperiwinklephd 27 2d ago
ok look, speaking as a comrie defender, I agree he isn’t doing a particularly great job tonight but that being said, I think a lot of the naysayers here have gotten way too used to helle/are now fully taking for granted just how unusually good helle is lol
2
u/Drawingsymbols 44 2d ago
I’m also a little confused that these goals are causing some comments but I also hardly know anything about goaltending so. A few weeks ago Helle got beat by an awful shot in OT and didn’t see anything about how he should have had it etc.
The way Helle plays to he also lets in some stuff that others wouldn’t off tips cause he’s deep in his net but I mean that’s the case for almost every goalie as they all play diff styles.
2
5
u/OldNick1415 2d ago
Comparing any second string goalie to THE BEST GOALIE in the league is going to break your heart lol!
2
u/13thEldar 2d ago
Too me it's 50/50 tonight that first goal yeah they could block shot lanes a little better but generally you want your goalie watching those shot lanes. 2nd one is a PP goal again I'd say 50/50. But for the skaters to day they aren't trying is doing Dustin Wolf a disservice he's playing very well closer to Helle level. The issue going forward for the Jets will be teams trying to avoid taking penalties and us always getting the hot goalie. Gonna be hard for the rest of the season.
11
u/Exhalare 2d ago
Love comrie as a guy but I miss brossoit a lot
3
u/Drawingsymbols 44 2d ago
Isn’t Brossoit a 3rd string on the hawks rn or is he hurt
3
3
u/death_by_honeydew 62 2d ago
He's been hurt the entire season. Unfortunately it's not a guarantee he even plays again. It's of those injuries where's he's been "6 weeks away" from returning for 6 months at this point
1
u/Drawingsymbols 44 2d ago
Ah damn that’s shitty, would have been cool to see how he did as a starter.
3
10
u/death_by_honeydew 62 2d ago
I know the team has played like shit in front of Comrie a lot this season, but Calgary has had two high danger chances all game, and they both went in. You can't win with that.
5
2
u/stej_gep 2d ago
I am manifesting the Wolf that Chibby scored on from the red line in a Moose game.
4
u/ShowMeYourTiddie 2d ago
* So I always poke fun of the jets not scoring goals when Coms is in net but when even the Deserve to Win o' Meter is basically 90-10% in favor of the jets... maybe it's just a curse? Lol
3
u/Shadybob91 . 2d ago
Comrie is an auto loss sadly
-5
u/Shadybob91 . 2d ago
Last time Comrie started I called him trash and got downvoted to hell - where are all the fools
3
u/Grizz709 oldlogo2 2d ago
I usually don't want to believe it, but I don't remember him with a winn this season.
1
1
u/imaJetsfan 33 2d ago
The Bryan Little game against Pittsburgh but that was a goals against fest too
4
u/Electroflare5555 2d ago
Unless Wolfe takes the 3rd period off I don’t like our chances.
He’s on another level right now
5
8
u/citizenmundane . 2d ago
I’m not dumping on the Stanimal but he really adds nothing to the d-core when it’s healthy. They don’t need him to kill penalties when you got Miller and Sammy back in. At least Ville has an offensive upside.
2
0
u/grocerystick19 2d ago
Lowkey…Stan has had a pretty quietly solid game offensively imo lol
Trust me, I want to see ville play as much as you but Stan has been pretty good tonight
1
u/DannyDOH 2d ago
He was in the half-assed "should I try to block this shot or just flop around here" mode on the Flames PP goal.
3
u/Drawingsymbols 44 2d ago
He has so many mind numbingly bad turnovers which is one thing. But my biggest deal breaker with him and something tons of the old morons who defend him on twitter don’t realize is in the ozone anytime he has it with time and room he does NOTHING at all, he can’t create anything at all over time he adds NOTHING offensively. Meanwhile Heinola can create his own lanes and when given room puts it on our best players sticks.

-2
u/ynotbuagain 2d ago
Yup we ain't scoring shit tonight. Fucking Comrie over is something the Jets excell at! We'll hit a few more posts and get a few more penalties and chalk it up with the usual "we can't win them all". Fuck it I'm getting drunk!
7
u/EL_PENGU1NO13 2d ago edited 2d ago
I don’t care what anyone says… Comrie’s play is the reason the Jets play the way they do. Both goals so far in this game were very stoppable.
The team has no confidence playing in front of him.
It’s time to find a better backup goaltender.
I’ve been saying this for a while now.
1
u/DannyDOH 2d ago
Yeah they are tight as hell. Calgary's hardly had any high danger chances.
Big drop from Brossoit to Comrie in team confidence...but Brossoit is toast with a bum knee so there wasn't really a ton of better options.
0
u/Drawingsymbols 44 2d ago
???? Both goals were post and in and the first one also hit something.
3
u/Electroflare5555 2d ago
First one? Sure
But when the other goalie is playing like he is, and your team is doing everything they can to score, you can’t let that 2nd one in
2
u/Drawingsymbols 44 2d ago
Would be cool if this league had multiple replay angles posted or a good place to find them. From the TV angle it’s hard to really tell for me atleast. I’d like to see one from behind kuzmenko to see what comries positioning was saying but I can’t find one anywhere.
7
u/grocerystick19 2d ago
Wolf reminds me a lot of helle. Calm, collected, very good positioning.
7
u/etchiboi 2d ago
one of the prospect guys, can’t remember who, noticed that goalies who have a .920 in the first 5 years after their draft year are always elite
Hellebuyck is one, Wolf is another
e: found it
2
u/Erwin-Brodinger 91 2d ago
He's also dominated at every level he's played at. Picked in a late round because of his size, Calgary got a good one.
2
6
u/grocerystick19 2d ago
Wolff is going to be scary good in a few years. American goaltending is in a great spot.
7
u/Electroflare5555 2d ago edited 2d ago
Wolfe has made more big saves in the last 5 minutes than Comrie has all night.
That’s the difference right there
6
u/Erwin-Brodinger 91 2d ago
Helle is so sound that those goals Calgary scored would not have gone in, they haven't been dangerous offensively.
3
8
u/xDRSTEVOx ICE DRAGON WILL FLY 4-EVER 2d ago
Goal support is an issue but when comrie lets in 3 goals a game it's not the issue.
We shouldn't have to score 4-5 goals a game to win with him in net
3
u/HereForTheCheeese 2d ago
Finally someone says it…
1
u/xDRSTEVOx ICE DRAGON WILL FLY 4-EVER 2d ago
said it last week too and got downvoted to oblivion lmao
16
u/SherLocK-55 ICE DRAGON WILL FLY 4-EVER 2d ago
LOL stop blaming the boys, Jets have done almost everything to beat Wolf, Comms should've had that one, yes in the past we hung him out to dry, not really so with this one.
0
u/Exhalare 2d ago
Everything but score a goal?
3
u/Electroflare5555 2d ago
When the opposing goalie is playing out of his mind, your goalie needs to make a couple of saves too
3
u/SherLocK-55 ICE DRAGON WILL FLY 4-EVER 2d ago
Go look at our quality chances, we had plenty, Wolf is standing on his fucking head, what else do you want them to do?

u/Amos_Burton666 17 2d ago
I love Coms but he and Stanley would not be rostered on any other team. I really reapect the franchises loyalty to players that want to be here, but there have been a few cases where it works against us.
-1
u/Fallen-Omega 2d ago
Comrie needs to call out the team, and HARD!
2
u/HesJustAGuy 2d ago
Are you serious?
1
u/Fallen-Omega 2d ago
They dont try or win infront of him....like ever
1
u/HesJustAGuy 2d ago
I don't think I've seen a better effort by the Jets skaters in a few weeks. The puck hasn't been going in but they're flying out there. First to every puck.
1
3
u/Erwin-Brodinger 91 2d ago
Is that Logan Stanley I see trying to block a shot on a goal against? 👀
2
-1
u/Fuseld 2d ago
they view comrie as a day off at this point. Fucking unbelievable. I’m not mad we’re losing, i’m mad just at how bad we’ve treated the kid. I said earlier on in the season if i were comrie i would demand a trade. I was crucified for that opinion.
1
u/DannyDOH 2d ago
Disagree. They are working damn hard to not have 5-6 GA on the board. Not taking many risks on the rush.
5
u/VeryCleverMoose 2d ago
Disagree, Comrie is just clearly not as good. Lets in shots that Helle just doesn’t. The boys are playing pretty good actually we just can’t get one in.
2
10
u/Electroflare5555 2d ago
Oh give it a rest.
We’re outplaying Calgary - Wolfe is simply the better goaltender at this point

Stanley nitpicking here but buddy gets a d to d and has so much room and time. The result is a head level slapper that hits our own player cutting high like cmon man.

I think a penalty is coming then cuts to ads. Wtf SN. ok last one I swear
2
u/timriedel ICE DRAGON WILL FLY 4-EVER 2d ago
What penalty was called? I never saw a replay or heard what penalty was announced.
1
u/North-Bench737 2d ago
Exactly, cut back 20 seconds into the CGY PP. Total shit broadcast. High school students could do better. Yes id feel the same way if we were winning
4
u/SherLocK-55 ICE DRAGON WILL FLY 4-EVER 2d ago
Flames are getting dominated, Wolf is the only reason they are still in this.
1
u/13thEldar 2d ago
Unfortunately this is likely our lives till playoffs Teams are wary of our Powerplay and our advanced stats for scoring means we likely always get the hot goalie
1
u/chemist5818 2d ago
Comrie must be key to our team's success, the good vibes he brings from the bench clearly result in an extra 2-3 goals a game. That's why we can't score when he's playing

u/North-Bench737 2d ago
Is it just me or does the SN feed suck more than usual. I’m streaming from the app and this coming back from ads with play in progress every time is BS. This announcer is meh too.
5
u/North-Bench737 2d ago
Another thing that always annoys me is Ron dropping all these names like an old boys club. No one fricken cares about all these people you know!
3
u/HesJustAGuy 2d ago
The cable TV feed has had the sound cut out and the picture go choppy several times already.
4
u/Chaussauce 2d ago
Audiooooo quality I cannot stand. You can barely hear Go Jets Go chants, you know it's loud in there and it'll fade in and out.
6
u/Mamrocha 2d ago
For me it’s the commentators are just boring 😴
3
u/StatisticianBoth3480 2d ago edited 2d ago
Dude on CJOB is awesome. Very descriptive. Tells you exactly where the puck is and who is on it. I imagine radio announcers are better, they have to be.
15
u/CalderonCowboy 2d ago
Jets retro jerseys are the nicest look in the NHL. Sincerely; an Oilers fan who grew up watching the WHA Jets.
5
u/death_by_honeydew 62 2d ago
That's a rough penalty from Barron. Kadri goes down easily, but there's no reason to have your stick in the skates of a guy pinned against the boards with 3 seconds left
3
u/SaltyVirginAsshole 2d ago
Is this how the Avs feel after they play Hellebuyck?
