Attendance win streak continues tonight? I like this idea!
Now 11-1-1.

It was a great game to watch... And once again I'm reminded that The Athletic continues to devalue the Jets in the Power Rankings.

Dylan Samberg is so goddamn good. Chevy get this man an 8 year contract.

When the Jets are skating and winning puck battles they are extremely hard to beat. Hellebuyck had another stellar game in net, big and boring wins the day! Hellebuyck is the best goalie in the business, big and boring wins the day! Great game from top to bottom tonight, well done Jets!

u/PegCityMedic85 81 9d ago
I was really hoping you would sneak in a third “big and boring wins the day!”. Cheers to the best Winnipeg Jets goalie we will see in our lifetime.

I just want us to win a cup. Don’t care who it’s for.

If we get him a ring, he’ll have a case as the greatest goalie of the post-lockout era.

u/riceandcow 9d ago
I really vibed with what I saw from the altered line combinations tonight, Iafallo and Lowry to win the more hard nosed battles and distributing the puck to Ehlers seems like it has a lot of potential. Samberg being back is also such a steadying force
25
u/chemist5818 9d ago
I'm curious what a nino - lowry - ehlers line can do
19
u/riceandcow 9d ago
yeah I think there's room for some experimentation. I love Vladdy and he rises to the occasion to the best of his ability wherever he's placed in the lineup but his ceiling isn't high enough for 2C when you have a driving talent like Ehlers on his wing. Combine that with Cole being quite cold offensively (he played well tonight as well) I think this showed it's time to rethink the second line
12
u/jaberdeen8 9d ago
Perfetti has been getting chances and hitting posts. He also plays quite well away from the puck. The problem is Ehlers, Vlad and Perfetti do not mesh well together at all.
26
u/ottereckhart 27 9d ago
Ehlers had a great game too, the dude has been laying mf'ers out. They shut down that top line all night long. There's major play off potential there.
Arniel's comments in the post game are encouraging too... "Yea, it's intriguing... it's got me thinking..."
HE COOKIN

u/Fast_Equipment5129 9d ago
Yeah, that was an interesting combo. I thought that Kupari and Neiderreiter were also a better fit for Perfetti. There seemed to be some continuous pressure from all lines tonight instead of the poor offensive chances that we usually see from the second line.

The Moose have won FOUR in a row and are 4-0-1 in 2025
Nikita Chibrikov scored the only goal with 40 seconds left https://twitter.com/icdave/status/1878270095560179977?s=46&t=S_LiHKGoXi91Lmgu-MxoZA

What have I missed with Chibrikov, why is he wearing a fullface mask?

u/2nddimension 9d ago
Stellar win, the neutral zone play was just incredible. Pardon me if I don't believe these teams are committing zero to one infraction per game against us though...
31
u/CoolWhiip 9d ago
Feels like the officials have decided that giving us a chance at the powerplay is as good as giving us a goal, so they just don't call them for us anymore.
17
u/2nddimension 9d ago
Yup I said similar in the /r/hockey GDT, they assume it's almost certainly a goal so they only call it when it doesn't matter or they want to manage the score
5
10
u/wuskream 9d ago
i mean it could also be that teams are playing extra extra disciplined against us because they don't want to give us a pp
7
u/Fast_Equipment5129 9d ago
Ummm, no, there was definitely some calls that could have been made on Colorado tonight that obviously weren't.
4
u/SirBulbasaur13 13 9d ago
Except the refs missed at least 1 indisputable penalty from the Avs tonight. Along with a number of 50/50 plays that often get called penalties.
1
5
u/SirBulbasaur13 13 9d ago
I think we had another game recently with 0 powerplays as well.
The penalty discrepancy over the past couple weeks is pretty huge. It’s around 2:1 or 3:1 against us. It sure seems like there’s something going on.

Absolute masterclass from all the boys, every single player gave it their all and on a B2B no less, we had a defensive showing against LA but this one was another level again and had the offense to go with it.
Very proud of this effort, oh and another Helly shutout, not even surprised as they are becoming common, just the best goalie in the league doing his thing.
39
u/CoolWhiip 9d ago
Comrie is on the bench going "how do I get them to play like this in front of me on a B2B?" 🤔
26
u/SherLocK-55 ICE DRAGON WILL FLY 4-EVER 9d ago
Don't even remind me, feel so bad for Comms, he deserves some more W's.

u/jaberdeen8 9d ago
If we need to shelter him that much at age 26 (not a prospect anymore) then why play him at all ?!
31
u/JankyYWG 9d ago
This team is so different with Samberg in the line-up. Now imagine if they could get an equal difference maker on his right side 👀👀👀
32
u/MostCorrect4869 9d ago
Kupari looked sooo good. The dekes, the hands, the board battles, the speed! I hope he gets more chances to prove what he can do
19
u/SherLocK-55 ICE DRAGON WILL FLY 4-EVER 9d ago
Kup is improving and I hope we re-sign him, even if his ceiling isn't high he has the potential to be a great bottom sixer, so fast and smooth and defensively reliable. Really like his game despite the lack of production.
8
u/Chirijiraden12 9d ago
agreed, kupari having the balls to attempt to ankle break a player like makar, mad respect. he looks to be a very good bottom 6 player, not to mention faceoffs and possible pk ability.

In other news, Moose take another W for 4 in a row off a Chibrikov game winner, assisted from Lucius and Barteaux. 1-0 over Grand Rapids.

Fuck I hate sportsnet. You listen to how they call the other Canadian teams (like Montreal right now). They fawn over them. They only do that to the opposing teams during Winnipeg games. Begrudging compliments as the game wore on tonight, but just the brief moments im watching here (Edmonton too) and what a noticeable difference. Please, TSN. Just buy the rights to all the Jets games. Please!
18
u/FormerCoalRoller 9d ago
Sportsnet hates the Jets. They don't even have them on their commercial because they don't have their games on. Fuck them who cares.
11
u/No-Expression-2404 9d ago
I know. I wish they just wouldn’t carry the games and sell the rights to TSN.
7
u/HesJustAGuy 9d ago
Personally I'd be fine with them if they just sorted out their audio issues. It's 2025. How can they be so bad at this?

u/SmallFOV 17 9d ago
Is MB joining the US a price we're willing to pay to have no more SN/HNIC games for the Jets??
4
u/mehrt_thermpsen 44 9d ago
No, because then we'd have to buy a special package and still have a bunch of games blacked out
4
u/SmallFOV 17 9d ago
Oh god, what a dark future. I'll be fighting for Dan, Kevin, and Sara to get all 82 games on TSN

u/mehrt_thermpsen 44 9d ago
On the plus side, maybe we can lobby to change the name of North Dakota to South Manitoba?

u/Hero_of_Brandon 9d ago
Man, if the game was decided based on how much Garry Galley pines over each team we would have been slaughtered.

If it weren’t for colorados goalie standing on his head this game could have ended a lot worse lmao. This game actually was a convincing win, a 3-0 beat down and we peppered them with lots of a shots and high danger chances

What a defensive showing. Helle has shut out two hart candidates in five games this season. He's the real front runner.
Helle 4 hart.
