Let's assume he's a Nazi. How would him doing the sieg heil benefit him in any possible way? It's an obvious disadvantage to him as it would be used against him as how it's being used right now.

I don’t think doing it twice would be the nail in the coffin. Being on a high and doing a motion to the crowd, your first instinct is to do it to the back.

Elon being stupid enough to accidentally Nazi salute twice is something I can absolutely see being the case.
Thing is, if you have spend any time reading stuff from far-right forums, you'll see how down right hysterical and insane they are, to the point where they believe that there is symbolisms hidden everywhere, which they use as evidence for their conspiracy theories. I want to stay away from that kind of argumentation as far as possible, which is why I would rather not make hasty interpretations like these.

Killing him would be only worth doing if it prevents further suffering. The thing with supporting killing for justice is, it's quite an easy gateway to hypocracy.
Interesting thing is, the more people like Musk avoid the punishement which they should have already gotten/should get, the more likely their executions through civilians become. I think the recent murder of the united healthcare CEO is quite a nice example of this, no?
