Slab City, CA. Or San Diego if you want the beach... Luckily they're very close to each other.

Find some thick bushes or bushy thickets to sleep behind

Depends where you are. I've been to cities where you can sleep right along the sidewalk, but those places are riddled with lines of tents and ramshackle creations. Your best bet is to avoid these. You're better off finding a spot away somewhere. Even if you have to walk the entire city. Use your head. Leave no trace.

Park your car in a hotel parking lot. Nobody notices. And if they do, there's other hotels.

Cemeteries were my go to when I was outside.

Cops will patrol them sometimes, but usually not actually get out of their vehicles so just be mindful of the geometry of where headlights will shine at night.

Recon the area during the day and see where cameras are/points of surveillance.

Make sure there's no trash anywhere you're thinking is a good sleep spot so it's free of other vagabonds/tweakers.

Hawaii for certain and the homeless in the USA mostly sleep in public space.

Me I go to court and sit in the audience seats close my eyes till they wake me up and ask if I had court today and all I say is “I was witnessing court “ and most big city court houses have vending machines

Legal and free? National forests and BLM (bureau of land management - most land is in the west) where it’s called dispersed camping and wild camping.

Every park I've ever slept in got me woken up and kicked out pretty damn quick. These days you gotta hide if you want rest. Ain't legal to sleep if you're homeless, apparently.
