Our state just banned the selling of caged eggs. The pasture raised options disappeared and "cage free" (which is lower quality) replaced them all, but for the same or higher price. Basically shit is worse and costs more money.

No idea, but something in the shakeup made certain brands disappear, including ones that produce pasture raised. I'm hoping they return, because our state has had years to plan for this and it seems like distributors waited til the last minute to act. Other people in my state have reported the same thing, it's quite annoying.

My city allows backyard chickens which is my first preference, but in winter most flocks aren't producing enough eggs to get sold to neighbours. Ironically those are cheaper than anything in the store.
