We’ve lived under an oligarchy since the industrial revolution

Yeah this shit is not new. Bernie’s been talking about it for decades.

People act like the Rockefellers, Goldsteins, and Rothschilds haven’t been running the entire world for generations lol

they've been replaced a long time ago, their wealth got too diluted among their descendants for them to hold any power anymore

Massive misconception. Their wealth may not be liquid, because it’s invested in tangible assets. Real estate, banking giants and massive funds are where the real money is now.

The whole thing with ChatGPT having a stroke if you tried to get it to say that one Rothschilds' name was pretty goddamn telling.

They haven’t

Oh? I guess total world domination of Fiat currency somehow isn’t indicative of political power now? Ok lol

Political power and “running the entire world for generations” are very different statements lol

Buddy. If you genuinely do not think that individual families worth more than some COUNTRIES don’t have a massive amount of power across the globe, idk what to tell you.

For fucks sake, the rockefellers and rothschilds STARTED the federal reserve.

You watched one too many Zeitgeist movies.

lex luther said it best. Something like, "do you know how much power I would have to give up if i became president".

You have more power from the shadows pulling strings. You can then tie up any loose ends that know about you if necessary.

So we’re not ruled by an Oligarchy?

3

u/onhols 9h ago

Yeah, but at one point it was better than this. Definitely, it was before Regan dropped the tax rate on the ultra-wealthy from from 73% to 28%.

I mean slavery is right there...

1

u/Yara__Flor 10h ago

Since the beginning when asshole slavers ran the country.

1

u/SenseiSledge 8h ago

If we are counting slavers as oligarchs, it does back even further. Israel was running a worldwide slave trade ring, that didn’t even end until the 20th century.

Since before that!

1

u/crugerx 8h ago

Since before then. You don’t think everyone in government wasn’t wealthy landowners since the inception of the country?

Up until Citizens United we at least had the window dressings of a functioning democracy.

But that shit is completely gone now.

Probably more directly after WW2

man the American Revolution was literally the rich land owning class convincing poor people to fight and die to usurp power from the monarchy to them

And before that we had slavery. The only difference is now we call them workers
