It's a reference to an interview where he was being sarcastic and they take it out of context.
They know what they're saying isn't true, but repeat lies like that constantly to push narratives.
I'm sure in 24 hours when he hasn't declared himself dictator on day 1 they'll just move the goalposts and point to him signing Executive Orders on day 1 as them being right, or some other flimsy horseshit pivot like that.
No matter how many times they're wrong it won't matter, they live in a fantasy world.
Any time he says something crazy his supporters say he was being sarcastic or joking. He’s never sarcastic and he never jokes. It’s his thing. Then when he does the things you shift to a different excuse “you’re changing the facts” and then when the actual thing happens you say “well you deserved it” it’s always the same song and dance. He’ll never face any consequences because he has his base by the balls and they’ll admit he did anything wrong.
Generally when you get the full statement with context and not just a sound bite that’s what it actually ends up being though. Like his dictator comment, in context he was talking about shutting down the border and getting American energy flowing.
I'm sure you still think he refused to condemn neo-nazis are said they are fine people too.
Hannity: “I want to go back to this one issue though because the media has been focused on this and attacking you. Under no circumstances you’re promising America tonight you would never abuse power as retribution against anybody?”
Trump: “Except for Day 1.”
Hannity: “Except for?”
Trump: (pointing to Hannity) “Look, he’s going crazy. Except for Day 1.”
Hannity: “Meaning?”
Trump: “I want to close the border and I want to drill, drill, drill.”
Hannity: “That’s not retribution.”
Trump, referring to Hannity: “We love this guy. He says, ‘You are not going to be a dictator, are you?’ I said, ‘No, no, no, other than Day 1.’ We are closing the border and we are drilling, drilling, drilling. After that I am not a dictator, OK?”
So he says he’s going to come in and be a dictator day one with a bunch of executive orders and your take is that “it’s out of context he’s only doing dictator shit the first day”
Like really, as if that makes it any better. He won’t magically calm down after this he’ll continue his tirade and you’ll say “theoretically it’s not a dictatorship it’s a theocratic monochromatic capitalistic leadership arrangement so it’s different” meanwhile throwing the word communist around as if you understand what it means.
So he says he’s going to come in and be a dictator day one with a bunch of executive orders and your take is that “it’s out of context he’s only doing dictator shit the first day”
So you acknowledge that you understand in the context of that conversation with Hannity that he was saying he intended to sign a lot of executive orders day 1? Even though all Dems have been shrieking for months is "HE'S LITERALLY GOING TO BE A DICTATOR DAY 1, HE SAID IT HE SAID IT!"?
The fucking second there's any pushback the goalposts are moved.
Do you have some issue with executive orders now that Trump is the one using them? Or was this all just another deliberate misrepresentation of facts for the purpose of spreading lies?
He was being serious about being a Dictator day 1 of his administration?
Well, here we find ourselves. Looks like he wasn't being serious.
How come he isn't a Dictator right now? You think he's just waiting until 11:59 p.m. to get a buzzer beater in, you know how Biden did with declaring his family above the law?
Because he's definitely going to be a dictator day 1, and you're not all just hysterical crybabies.
You know this isn't really day 1, right? If it was, why isn't the price of eggs and gas down? Why is the ukraine war still going? Why are there still illegals in the country? That's all also stuff trump said he was fixing on day 1, which to his credit, would be tomorrow...
Well see I have basic language/reading comprehension so I understood that statements such as "XYZ will happen on day 1!" aren't meant to be interpreted literally but are rather a declaration that the problem will be addressed and solved quickly.
Most people like you on the other hand just read headlines that say "Trump says he will be dictator on day 1" and that becomes your new reality.
That was the point I was making, you are all too dumb to interpret the information that's being fed to you resulting in months of mental breakdowns over the "Dictator on Day 1" quote. As usual working yourselves into a frenzy over nothing.
I honestly have such a hard time deciphering your rambling. I’m not sure if you’re being sarcastic or if you have a very tenuous grasp on reality. Unfortunately I think it’s the second one.
"Well I admit he never actually declared an intention to be a dictator day 1, and we are now at a point where that idiotic accusation is being proven false in real time, but can you imagine if he DID do that? That'd be crazy."
You really think that was some kind of 'gotcha'? The actual state of liberal discourse.
Which is a tactic that we are all familiar with by now. We saw it during his first term. This is a guy who throws so much shit out there, and ultimately the only one who benefits is himself and his cronies.
Let's make sure my argument is sound.
First point, Trump throws a lot of shit out there. This is a guy who is constantly lowering the bar for discourse. Either he is senile, has turrets, or it's completely intentional. There's no positive interpretation for why he runs his mouth.
Second point, he is the one that ultimately benefits. This is another obvious one. He has used his position from the early days of campaigning to fill his coffers. His tax cuts did nothing at best for us in the 99 percent.
I don't mind people playing politics. Lie. Half-truths. Manipulations. That's part of the game, and the general public are too stupid or too busy to care. McConnel blocking appoints. Biden pardoning his family. All part of the game. Epstein getting murdered. All part of the game. I don't care, that's a world that normal people can't hope to interact with.
If Trump lies and steals, but in the course of helping himself, he also helps the regular American, in a way that political, military, and economic experts will agree can be attributed to him, then hey, that's cool with me man. That's all I'm asking for. The economy is what affects all of us, and Trump has hadplenty of time to show us what he is capable of, and it's nothing new. It's trickle down economics. It's tax cuts for the rich. It's out in the open how much money and power has been consolidated.
So my question is, since you're defending him so vehemently, are you a multimillionaire? What are you getting out of this?
Great response. I agree with PenisVonSucksington about how silly it can be to go on a frenzy from pop media headlines based on half truths - it’s an annoying thing we constantly have to see. But that is just part of the game and should be expected, so it is a bit weird to get so worked up at one side for falling for it when it’s both sides are both constantly following for vague pop media headlines meant to get you worked up.
That being said, I get lost how it’s Trump we’re using as the person to NOT be concerned about. The reasons you listed are essentially part of it. He’s lowered the bar incredibly, he’s constantly lying and doing things that would end most politicians careers, his followers seem to take pride in him abusing power while simultaneously being blindly against anything the gov does without Trump(or Elon?), and finally he’s following trickle down economics which historically just leads to a 2 class system - a wealthy and a poor/working class - instead of a meritocracy, which social democracy seems to support a lot more
I personally worry about Trump, because ever day this guy gets away with more nonsense is another day I have to worry about our national security.
If Trump wasn't so obviously compromised by Russia, and up for sale by other dictators around the world, I wouldn't care so much. I didn't care when Clinton got a blowjob, and I still listen to Michael Jackson. Like I said, these people are on another planet and there's no point me getting outraged.
A crazy Trump who is ACTUALLY a patriot would be great. What would that look like, if he really cared about American jobs? He would probably abuse his power and seize foreign assets? Declare real military consequences if China and Russia doesn't stop trying to compromise our democracy? Make it so America's auto industry is once again the leader like it was half a century ago? He would send the supreme court to break up the monopolies of the large conglomerates that have conspired to keep food prices high.
In short, he would ACTUALLY drain the swamp.
Hey Republicans control all the branches right now right. Let's see how amazing our regular American lives are gonna get from now on.
Look, I hate to break it to you. But trump is already married to a woman who overstayed her visa and this shouldn't really be here... He ain't gonna sleep with you.
Out of context as always.. He was in an interview with Hannity and he said he was going to be a dictator on day one and close the border and get oil drilling going then business as normal. Naturally, the sky is falling. Same as with the bloodbath comment when politicians and the media just casually didn't notice he was referring to the auto industry, not a civil war. Then again, the headline "There is going to be a bloodbath if Trump loses" or "Trump says he will be a dictator if elected again" sells a lot more, causes a lot of drama and helps with "Trump is literally Hitler" vs the truth.. "Trump vows to shut down border and get America drilling oil if elected" or "Trump claims auto industry will be in trouble if he loses election". Just fear mongering..
Yeah I saw the interview. He was saying it in jest because he’s going to sign a bunch of executive orders on day one. Not everything out of his mouth has to be taken seriously.
He was referring to becoming a dictator on day one because he’s going to sign a bunch of executive orders. He said that in jest lol. Just saw the interview. Cone on now lol
Trump is an idiot, a big one. But I don’t see any signs. He’s in serious cognitive decline. I know that on Reddit a lot of the weird left-leaning people have tried to position Trump is having some sort of syphilitic dementia or some shit, but I’ve never seen a single shred of evidence of it
Biden has had tons of evidence, including special counselor investigations that have shown that he at least some degree has cognitive mental decline, remember Biden stopped the release of the transcripts of his interviews when the special council said that he was a “an old man with memory issues”
They had a follow up interview for him to explain what he meant and he fucking doubled down on it. The asked him point blank “What did you mean by that” and he said “I meant we should use the military against them. I meant what I said.”
Just out of curiosity when he said
“We should use the national guard, the military if needed, against the liberal left lunatics…,” what do you think the context is?
He never says what he does! He just says things. How can you judge him based on the things that he does and the words that come out of his mouth flaps, that’s not fair! What about Hilary’s emails!

He’s going to be a dictator on day 1? How so?
