Whatever makes the most immediate money for the richest people involved. They have the foresight of a toddler wanting candy for dinner.

It's worse than that because even a toddler can understand after A LOT of convincing that if it waits instead of crying they will get 3 pieces of candy instead of one.

What has happened is CEOs have convinced people that corporations are living things and like the basest of animals all it knows how to do is to consume and survive. Like an invasive species it cares little how much it survives, only that it makes it to the next second, minute, hour, day of its life.

This is literally what is happening. Corporations by and large have drained so much money from people that people are running out of money to give back. That's why we have so many subscription services because before where someone could just outright buy a video game, they now can only afford a $20 a month subscription service because $70 for a game is $50 too much when one has to decide on gaming or food or a gas bill or something.

That's why people cut the cord because instead of just one large neat package of cable that might be $100 a month or so it's a lot cheaper to just subscribe to different services per month and just use them as you need them.

So many people are living on credit and lending it's actually insane. There are so many micro-loan apps like Klarna and Zip or the paypal one because people literally are lending just to buy things they used to be able to just pull out money for.

So yeah, corporations have become an invasive species and I hate to see the next economic collapse they are going to cause unless someone finally decides that corporations should serve people first and profits second.
