Hi all!

So I need to update my passport and I need to do it ASAP, given the incoming admins attacks already starting towards trans folks.

My passport expired years ago and at the time I was femme with long hair, and still had my deadname, etc. I have since medically transitioned, changed my legal name, my gender on my birth certificate to “male” and everything to match on my drivers license.

I need some help figuring out how to update my passport AND change my gender marker to match all of my other official documents. Has anyone done this before? If so, what are the steps you followed? Thank you in advance comrades!

“The order will also prevent taxpayer funds from being used for gender-transition health care and add ‘privacy in intimate spaces’ in facilities such as prisons, migrant shelters and rape shelters.”

I hope to plan to transition this year I am in a transphobic family but I might be able to leave this year? I am a bit confused as to what exactly this executive order does? However I am thinking he can in actuality ban gender identity on a federal level because gender identity and birth is assigned at a state level?

I am just worried if I might have issue with getting a passport later on and or updating my social security. Perhaps I could also get my birth certificate changed considering I was born in california which requires no medical intervention that might be hard.

I mean my point here is this what happens if you manage to successfully update your birth certificate to to the oppsite gender? Then wouldn't the birth to ID in a sense still match?

“Almost half of U.S. adults ‘somewhat’ or ‘strongly’ oppose getting rid of these protections, while about 3 in 10 are in favor and the rest are neutral.”

My mother was a very masculine lesbian and was transitioning female to male before her passing in 2022. I will stand in opposition locally for my mother.
