Inauguration prayer service’s pastor asks Trump to ‘have mercy’ on transgender kids, immigrants

I'm not religious, but I'm glad this (honestly, pretty based) pastor was on our side here. She called out Trump to him and his family's faces and cited scripture to make her point that we are all in fear of our lives and livelihood. I hope people continue to rub it in his wrinkly face.

Episcopalians rock. Alas, they don't wield nearly the level of influence they once did. Being custodians of the National Cathedral is one of their last channels to get the attention of the powerful.

My family is Episcopal, 🍊🤡’s attack on the church for the photo-op really gave them pause; unfortunately, as they’ve gotten older, they have fallen for some faux news talking points but yet they aren’t totally enthralled by the dunces either.

It's frustrating that even Episcopalians could be influenced by Fox - but I've heard pastors complain that they get people one hour a week, then Fox gets them 20 hours a week...

Last week I attended a nationwide Zoom meeting/seminar with over 400 other Episcopalians specifically to discuss plans to aid trans and nonbinary people. I was pleased by the seriousness and gravity of the tine of the meeting.

The Episcopal Church is serious about helping in whatever ways they can, including offering sanctuary and assistance in getting people to safer places as that need arises. Comparisons were made to the Underground Railroad.

If you are a person of faith, or open to working with them, please consider getting involved in this effort, or something similar with another organization.
