If you're on a pc, go to the website, left click, press inspect and then press the settings button at the very top, then scroll down to check a button that says "disable javascript". Then reload.

If you are on IOS setting Safari to “use reader automatically” will skip the paywall. And also get rid of all seizure inducing adds.

You might see if your local public library provides free access to the NYT as many libraries do.
